JensenEliteBlades - BAD

Peter won't answer my e-mails asking for a refund of my purchase. Anyone reading this post, be smart and consider spending your money elsewhere. Peter wants money up front while promising you that your $475 knife will be ready in only a few weeks, then he ignores you. Peter Jensen is a liar, and like all liars, should be avoided. :barf:

Does Peter ask for all the money up front when you order a knife? If so, that really seems unreasonable to me and I would never consider ordering a knife from someone that did that.

Keith,

An earlier poster indicated that Peter "never" asks for money up front. Maybe that is the case for times when he is feeling honest and when he has his financial house in order. Peter asked for 1/2 down when I ordered the knife in early August. Regretfully for me, I paid the full $475 price up front. Peter's sales job that knife was "almost finished" at time of order convinced me, incorrectly, that Peter was a low risk. Now he has my money and I see from Paypal that I used money from my bank account to pay (another idiot move), rather than using a credit card. This gets better all the time. :thumbdn:

Please, wolfman and others, fight that incredible urge to lecture me. I can pretty well see my mistakes myself.

Peter just refunded $170 out of the $475 I pre-paid. It's a start. Thank you Guy for help with communications!

Peter just made good and sent me the rest of the refund. Feyd, you might want to switch gears and ask for a refund.

Thanks for the heads up! I'd still prefer the knife at this point... but that may change soon.

All I can say is that the knves I have from JEB are kick ass and way overbuilt there tougher than tough and if anyone has any they want to trade or sell let me know.
Peace
Bob

Update:
I just got the knife I ordered yesterday. I am very pleased with the results and will take a walk next weekend to give it a whirl. I hope the circumstances that led to inaccuracies in schduling get resolved as this tool appears to be very finely crafted. My girl already wants to get an order in and there are a few other designs in which I myself am interested. Grade for product: A++. Grade for all else, D+ but forgivably so. I'll be in touch with Peter early next year to see if he would like to make me another few. Overall, I expect the work I'll get out of the knife will have made it worth the wait.
Consider me a satisfied customer.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

I´m investigating if I can charge her for mail fraud and if I can get in touch with the Australian "knife makers guild".

I believe she can´t visit USN anymore...

G'day Colin, Concerning Jensen Elite Blades, they are not members of the Australian Knife makers Guild, if you need to contact me there is a web sight with a members listing at www.akg.org.au. Col barn

Hi all:

I've placed several custom orders from JEB over the last 2 years and have had no problems. Sometimes delivery dates were missed due to unfortunate circumstances, but Peter and Bel have never done anything but a top job in terms of quality, service, and delivery for me. Their work is tough as hell and worth the wait in my opinion.

Regards,

Emptyglass

I should have worded that better:) I was just curious if you were in Australia, where it might be easier to keep in touch with him.

Thanks!

Living in Australia does not exempt you from the crap service Jensen has spiralled into.

Just this week......I've had 3 more complaints.

These guys have paid monies to Jensen with the promise of delivery within 2 months................8 to 12 months later......NO WORD WHATSOEVER.

Jensen always uses the excuse that his PC is down and email not working. But strangley enough, they were contacting his Mobile Phone, His home phone and his work phone.

His excuse of any of these not working is false....because I know of a couple of people that Jensen, calls back regularly. He just chooses who to call.....usually only when Jensen is chasing them for money.

Another excuse Jensen uses is that he wasn't happy with the "heat treament", so he's sent it back.............this is such a lame excuse, as there is only one company in my State that does heat treatment.....and their reputation is impeccable.

Jensen should be careful to defame other companies for HIS incompetence.

I wonder how many of you got the poor heat treament excuse, or my computer is down excuse or there has been a sickness in the family excuse......honestly, he's used these lame excuses so regularly, it's become an in joke with my guys.

When I commissioned him to make my "Floro" range of knives......the "package" was for the knife, a flint fire starter, and a training knife.

The first few knives came with the flint - then suddenly, they were being shipped out without it, on the promise they would be sent later.

More recently......the training knives started to disappear........

But Jensen never adjusted the price and still charge the full amount.

He also had the arrangement with me that for every "Floro" sold.....he would pay me a "royalty" of $50..........the past few sold......not only did he not mention the sale....but now found out, he refuses to pay any outstanding commissions.

I think the final straw was that there was a "Knife Show" recently.....instead of spending time finishing orders that were ridculously overdue......he spent the time making new knives to show.

Compare that to another Aussie knife maker, who's integrity and reputation is well know........he cancelled going to the Show, citing the reason that, he had promised his clients delivery of orders, and the only way to get it done was to forgoe this event.

Yes, Jensen does makes ok knives.......if you ever get them.

There are plenty of other knife makers who is interested in making the client happy........Jensen is a joke

JENSEN STRIKES AGAIN!!!!!

Just received an email today from a US Special Forces Operative working in Afghanistan.

At the start of the year he placed an order for 8 of Jensen's knives.

Being in the "front line" Jensen promised him a delivery date of no more than 2 months.

It is now the end of the year...........and Jensen has not returned ANY emails etc etc etc (the usual story)

I find this idiot unbelievable in that he takes $$$ for 8....EIGHT knives with a promised delivery of 2 months..........nearly a year later......no sight of even one...........and no correspondence whatsoever.

I'm particularly steamed about this one as these guys are "front line" and do need these knives.

UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, it's been 13 months since I paid for my EVO survival knife. I have had sporadic email with Peter, mostly him stating he's replied and doesn't know why I'm not getting his emails. Last time I heard from him he said he mailed the knife about 2 months ago and it was being returned to him and asked for my mailing address again. He said he would send it express mail so I would have it in a week after he sent it out. I gave him my address again and haven't received the knife or any replies to my emails since then. I think I'm out of my money... sigh.
