Jerry Halfrich Knives...

Elliott would probably know for sure. If he is still making knives they aren't surfacing anywhere.
Last I spoke with him, some months back, he wasn't taking orders, and the occasional knife he was building was either for some local concern or individual, or sending anything new he built for sale to a dealer he has had a long term relationship with.

Sorry fellas, that's all I've got. I am going to respect Jerry's privacy and current status and won't be sharing his personal information.

Elliot? Member here? I try to get in touch with Jerry because I need service on my Winchester. Back spring broke. Any suggestions of other makers who can repair it? Thanks!

I attempted to reach him on your behalf and was unable to get in touch and could not leave a message.

I'm sorry...but there's nothing further I can do on this score.

You're welcome. If I hear from Jerry, I'll pass along the info and try to get you two hooked up. I don't know if and when that may happen.

S swe and S SWED if you are the same individual, you can only have one account here. Let me know which one you wish to continue using as one will have to be disabled.

I've never owned any...and I can remember him telling me back some years ago that he only made a few.

Jerry always favored single blade knives...both to build and to carry.

Got a call from him a week or two back. He's pretty much "retired", no longer taking orders, and limiting his work to folks or organizations local to him.

He feels that now that he's in his early to mid 70's that his dexterity and ability has been somewhat diminished, and that he doesn't want to put work out in the public which is not up to the same level of excellence which his earlier work exemplified.

Looking through this thread it seems like a lot of photos are no longer available to view, which is a sad state, I blame Photobucket for my part of losing a lot of my photos. So, I got this Baby Rounder in today and looked this thread up and wanted to give it a refresh. I was also sad to hear that Mr Halfrich is no longer taking orders but as I myself just turned 70, I can certainly commiserate with him, time catches up to all of us. I am not sure what steel he used in this folder, I tried to find a website of his but no luck, but I sharpened her up tonight as it was one that had been use, I also tried to clean up the scratches that were on the blade so now it looks pretty darn nice and took a very good edge.

I always said that he should change his name to All-Rich ;) with the lovely knives he has made over the years, he certainly should have reached that plateau a long time ago.

Many many years ago I had this lockback in for a sheath, at the time I actually chatted, online, with Mr Halfrich about this knife and how much I admired it. I saved these couple images from the grip of photobucket so the image size was truncated a bit, but you can still see the beauty of his work.

So, you guys and gals that have some of his knives, take the opportunity to add them back into this tread so the youngin's that are just joining can see what a lovely folder should look like ;)

Gary, I'm pretty sure it's CPM-154. I had some small input into Jerry's development of the Rounder, and that's pretty much the only steel he was using back then except under rare circumstances and special requests.

I didn't realize that so many images are missing in this thread. I'll post some up over the next few minutes.
