I purchased a titanium knife with a damascus blade from this man & even spoke to him on the phone when I purchased the knife. He lives in Cordova, Tennessee so he had to charge sales taxes on my purchase since we live in the same State which was fine with me. But, when I finally received the knife, I was so disappointed at the quality and craftsmanship. The blade would open, but the locking bar would Not move & lock the blade open. Then I noticed that there were deep marks on the locking bar from what appears to have been Vise Grips where he had tried to get it freed up so it would work?.!
His warranty states that if a customer is not happy, he will make a different knife for you, or refund your money. So I wasent worried.
I called & left a message & have never received a call back. I did get an email a few days career & he stated that he would make me a new knife & get it to me as quickly as he could. I told him that after receiving a supposedly new knife in that condition, from a Custom knife maker, I just wanted a refund.. He said to ship it back & he would refund my money. So I shipped it back USPS Priority Mail, insured with delivery confirmation, now its getting more expensive. He received the knife on 1-31-2011 so I emailed him & said it was on its way so he could prepare to refund my payment. He then told me that there is a 7 day waiting period before he would refund my money, thats when I sent him the delivery confirmation number showing that it had been delivered earlier that day. Thats when he replied & said then it will be 7 days from then 1-31-11.
He has sent no refund & he will not return my emails or call me so I have turned it over to Paypal as fraud & selling items other than what are pictured or described.. I have pictures that I can post here aswell, if the webmaster of this Great website will allow me to find this & insert several pictures . . It's now February the 11th & still waiting.

Thank you & Buyer Beware, his New user name is Jim Adams Customs
Knifemaker, but it was also old black toe shoe or something like that..

Looks like it could use a good tune up..You should of recieved a brand new knife,Does not matter that you won it or payed for it. I would be a little let down myself.

My Warranty.
I have a no non-sense Guarantee, you break it under normal use,
I Promise I will fix or replace it as long as I am able to work in
the shop. Plus if for any reason you are ever unhappy with it.
Send it back to me for a "FULL REFUND". Because I don't make
a knife I wouldn't love to own.

Honestly -- Even though it was a gift, I woulda been pissed. If it's truly the thought that counts, then there certainly wasn't much thought that went into that knife. Something is seriously wrong.

I would like to say that I purchased ($80 w/ sheath) an Item from Mr. Adams a few months back... The listing looked nice and I was satisfied with the pictures, i decided to buy the item. I will say that the prices seem to be fair, for the most part. When It arrived, the Blade Looked to be previously used (Dirty) and very dull (Like Mr. Akers's Picture.) I have decided to try and have it overhauled in my area rather than send it back to TN. I have tried to contact Mr. Adams in the past, slow responses.
In spite of it all I do wish Mr. Adams the best in his future projects.

Wow, Bill, that's crazy. That would be completely unacceptable for a $30 production knife, let alone a $300+ knife from a custom maker. And like you said, it's ever stranger that a knifemaker would have so little pride in his work/reputation as to let that out of his shop with his name on it. I'd like to think it was an honest mistake, but as you pointed out, the soft-focus pictures taken from odd angles seem to suggest that the maker was well aware of the issues and was simply trying to disguise them enough to make a sale. :thumbdn:

Marko & Neuron, Well said. As a maker you would think that Mr. Adams would take more care and look over what he is sending to his customers. Maybe he is having a bad time of it lately.

That is an abortion of a knife....jesus looks like a dollarbin gas station knife. That wall of caps lock text is painful on the eyes though, I couldn't read that.

I stand behind it. I have issued a refund for ever knife that has been returned to me. My guarantee says if you are unhappy. It does not Guarantee a perfect knife. God knows I don't make one.
