I might be able to make it out late Fri night but Saturday for sure, Sunday if I can convince the wife to bring the kids.

We leave to come home early Sunday morning. Saturday is the main day, used to be only a Saturday thing, then we started including Friday night too.

We do have room for a couple more, but make sure that you commit soon so that everyone bringing food and supplies will know what is needed.

Has a contest been decided on? So far I've heard the following suggestions:
Fire starting
BB gun shooting
Slingshot shooting
Hiking stick carving
See who can carry the oldest guy from the parking area to the cabin

How about shortest distance traveled to a Gathering? :)

Seriously though, we can decide after a few cocktails. :)

Jeff

It looks like just 4 of us, unless Bill is bringing his son. Maybe give it a few more days?

What about locating and correct identification of wild edibles and medicinal plants.

Gives local knowledge, promotes functional situational awareness, and pushes one to actually look into the local scenery as opposed to just hanging out in it.

You could also do animal scat and tracks in the process.

Enjoy the trip everyone.

Good idea on the animal scat identification. After a few drinks there is always a lot of bullshit floating around!

How about the "he who passes out first gets funny pictures taken of him" game? It's an oldie but a goodie!

Great ideas, but our Gatherings tend to resemble frat parties more than wilderness training events. :)
