Joe Allen Knives

Hi to all knife friends: This is my second small knife and thought I would add it to my knife list. It is kind of a peanut and trapper mix morphed into what you see. The closed length is 3 1/16" closed and has Mammoth Ivory scales which I had a crack appear on the pile side center pin when I put it together. I had no problems all the way to the last put together and then it was there. So I either tear it apart or sell it cheap or keep it . T:ohis is what a Good knife would have been a great collector piece turned into a user for the right person. Stainless fittings, half stops an easy pull make this a Gentleman's using knife. 1/16 steel.blade material was used at a 60 rc final temper hardness. I know the arrow shield is backwards from the norm, but I like it this way also. Thank You for looking. Joe

That's a classic Eureka jack Very rare old pattern New York Knife made one like that with a pointed bolster. Pure traditional.

Thanks Mr. Shearer and a special Thanks to Tony for Confirming that this knife is a genuine Eureka Jack pattern from New York Knife Company. I was not sure what it was either, I have had the pattern from and Old knife I bought In Penn, when I lived there one time. While Im here I'd like to Thank Tony and Son Reese for guiding me an teaching me how to get to this Beauiful Art work that I am doing now. Cheers to the Wilford Works Boys . Fantastic Joe! I am really looking forward to getting this piece in hand and thank you again for checking all this out for me! 🤙🤙

Sure is a great looking knife, congrats on another fine addition Alan!

Thanks Jake

It was kind of cool that Joe asked Tony Bose if this was a known traditional pattern and Tony responded, yes it was a New York Knife> See above in the thread.

Adds to the tale of ownership.

Here is what I found on the net about the Eureka Jack . Looks like they may have came from England an then copied by some companies . The Company name I used to make this custom Eureka Jack was Russell with two diamonds an r between them with USA below. MY Russell may have been an fake copy made by who ??? But who ever it was ,they did a fantastic job of jigging the dark brown bone , almost like old Reminton bone was done,:) will add those pic's later.

The top knife is the pattern I copied my knife from an the bottom one is close to what Case Knives will make for Tony Bose for his 2017 Eureka Jack Knife. Hope this is helpful.
