Josh Burbank/PVK.....BAD EXPERIENCE

Like I have said ,it doesn't really matter who says what on here be it good or bad. All I am saying is the truth as it pertains to myself and my girlfriend's situation with Josh Burbank and PVK. I admit there has been some venting on here and perhaps I have been rather over the top in my ANTI PVK rhetoric in my last few posts. I just want anyone who can here my words listen to my story and hopefully that will save them from a similar situation happening with them.

I had nothing but the best of customer service from Josh Burbank until the beginning of June. Sent him a personal check for some knife pouches and Quick Release lube and hadn't heard anything for about 2-3 weeks. Finally got an email one month after I placed the order saying my order will be shipped. However, as I hadn't heard any response from the emails I had sent in that month, I stopped payment on the check (he never cashed it) and emailed him not to ship the order as I stopped payment on the check and that I found the pouches and lube I was looking for at a different site.

I never heard back from him. My check was never cashed, so he didn't try to rip me off. Also, when I received the email that my order was going to be shipped, it was a VERY generic email.....NOTHING like the communication I got from Josh in the past. He was always Top Shelf with me, as far as products offered and more so, his customer service. I can't help but think something bad is going on in his life right now....AND, if it's divorce, Well, I feel for him....divorce is (( language )), to put it mildly. I Truly don't think Josh's personality did a 180 degree turn, and he decided to be (( language ))! The man's got to have some problems right now....I hope everyone gets either their money back, or the product(s) they ordered. birdave

Like I have said I am only making a huge thing about all this because honestly . The situation has caused multiple arguments and problems in my relationship with my girlfriend. Granted there were some issues already there before this PVK drama scene played out. However the stress and hassle over money and how it was my fault for giving the impression PVK was a good site for Balisongs etc...Of course my gripe over the whole situation turning from a nice loving gesture to a stressed out flip session until the money was returned. Needless to say I am sorry that Josh Burbank is having to go through some domestic hardships but so have I and it was thanks to him and his business. So I still say when it come to PVK "NO WAY,NO HOW AND THAT IS THAT!!!"

Sorry to hear that. Hope everything was all right between you two after you got the money back. I don't blame you for not dealing with him again.

Things are getting better for sure it just sucks having to go from a nice gesture to a complete drama session. I mean honestly when someone goes to purchase something from a company, person or store . They hardly expect to be dealing with such high powered drama and bull crap hassles. Its easy ,ITEM 4 SALE+MONEY GIVEN FOR THE ITEM DESIRED+ITEM GIVEN TO PURCHASER=THANK YOU FOR YOU BUSINESS HAVE A NICE DAY. Its unbelievable how simple that sounds and how rich Josh Burbank would be if he did get down like so. I would bet he would at the very least have enough money to retain a kick butt attorney that would handle his legal issues. But hey whatever we are born into life we live or survive through it and then we die . And in the end all be all its not like we can all take our beloved knives with us to the other side, but who really knows?

Good news (hopefully)!

Last week I posted a complaint on the forum against PVK and Josh for failing to deliver my purchase. Two months had passed and I was starting to loose all hope, but then a couple of days ago I logged onto my mail account and was met by a letter from PVK stating that my products have been delivered and expected to arrive within 7-14 days.

Perhaps, when everything comes around Josh seems to keep his word.

/D

I don't know this guy and I have never bought anything from him, but I can say that there is no excuse for leaving your customers high and dry. I don't care if he's going through a divorce or legal issues or whatever... he has a responsibility to his customers. Period.

What would you say to a firefighter who decided not to drive the fire engine to an emergency one day because he was having personal issues? What about that soldier who decided not to fire his rifle that day because his impending divorce is messing with his schedule? What about the doctor who won't be coming in to perform that emergency surgery to save your life today because he's bogged down by legal stuff and just isn't "feeling it" today.

Some posters are acting like this guy deserves a medal for actually completing orders weeks late while going through a divorce. I say that not one. single. order. should have been late. We all have to suck it... but we all still have responsibilities. I have no sympathy for this guy, and I hope he loses his business.

Magnanimous you are not. :) I'm not going to hunt through all the threads, but i believe there was something about his business being tied up in court. He had no access.

Nevertheless, he has a reputation for slow communication and slow shipping in the best of times.

That is what was posted by someone who had talked to him. Which is a pretty good reason for not being able to process and ship.
However, unless he was totally locked out of his store, which can happen in these cases (gotta luv lawyers and angry soon-to-be ex's;)), one might have thought he could at least contact his customers to let them know or post something on his web site.

Nevertheless, he has a reputation for slow communication and slow shipping in the best of times.

Too true. I've read somewhere he is one man operation. No excuse, but could explain why his communications are a bit lacking. You'd think he could manage to hire someone to help. In this economy I'm sure there would be lots of folks who'd love to work in his shop.

I'm just glad to see he is finally getting back on track and folks are getting their merchandise.

That sounds great.

Pardon me for asking, but in what country do you live?

he was in prison actually...sooo...not much he could do.

whatever, anyways, I got my knife yesterday.

Josh Burbank is a straight up "GOOD DUDE"!!! Today I received a knife in the mail , it wasn't the one that was originally ordered .Regardless it was a batangas balisong and I think it shows real class and integrity making things right. Only thing I will ever say now is Josh Burbank is straight up good dude and the only issue
youd have might be a wait other than that he is no thief and he is a Good guy!!!

Good to hear it finally got straightened out.

Yesterday I received from Josh a letter of apology and the track number!
Order 3 + months old.
But then Josh has won its own difficulties, I am happy for him!

Do you have a date for that or is it old news?

("Wednesday at 2:27 p.m." is not a date. No date, no month, no year.)
