June 2008 San Jose "Chop Fest"

can anyone tell me a bit more about this blade???

That's mine, I call it the Ban'd Cutter.

It started with a Sage FFBM and had the band cutter/harpoon tip/bottle opener cut in to the spine, the point was dropped and an awesome swedge makes it very pokey. The blade has a recurve and is full convex ground with a zero edge. The choil was deepened a bit to make a forward grip less likely to slide forward and cut your finger. The tang is tapered slightly also. It has Ban's satin finish on it.

I came up with the idea and Ban made it a reality. It chops pretty good too.

DAMN!!!!! Looks like a great time. Wish I could have been there. Lots of great blades and chopping.

I had a great time and it was nice to meet everyone. Sucks I had to leave early. Thanks Ban for letting us use your place, I love my necker, sheath, and strop! We definitely got to do this again some time. :D

Just got home. Ban Tiny86 and I stayed and chopped for another 4 hours. Give me about an hour and Ill upload the VIDEOS!!!!

The Chopweiler seemed to chop better than the SARscuatch but we didn't have a real back to back test.

I think if I see one more post on how awesome the Ratweiler and/or Chopweiler is I am gonna have to grab me one.

Great pics. Keep'em coming. All I can say is that us So. Cal. HOGS have our work cut out for us. You guys rock!:thumbup:

Thanks again Ban and norcalblacktail, I had a lot of fun and it was definitely worth the drive.
