Just for fun~ What would be your choice of SHTF Production knife ?

Most likely this.....12" Condor bolo machete - one of my favorites.....

One of these two. The thicker grind Team Gemini is my first choice for deconstruction. The NMSFNO for everything else.

I love seeing all these safe-queen busses that actually haven't been field-tested (or even used) offered as proven SHTF knives ...;)

4th and 7th from top at left, 2nd and 3rd from the top on right, middle top (below tape measure). When I find what works, I buy extra.

top left, 3rd from top left, 5th and 6th below tape measure on left, top right, second below tape measure on right. The Battle Rat has been battoned through over 3 cords of wood, with both wood mallets and hammers. Still going strong - but don't tell anyone in case it voids my warranty. Oh wait, NOTHING voids the warranty...

Did you even look?

I haven't seen you post any pictures of your used and test shtf knife either. where are your pics and testing results? not trying to be a ass but why comment about it if you haven't done the same, and no worries I test my stuff a decent amount. here are some links. And I love me some busses too. but I'll play with anything. AS for what I would take it would probably be a JK, Horton, busse, or siegle. anything from them will do the job for sure

Fair enough...

My intent wasn't to throw out a contentious (or trollish) comment and hope it sticks - I just like to see well worn or used trail companions offered up as SHTF gear...Gear that has stood the test of time for the user here. I am no photographer, but here are some of my well used knives in my bug out gear... the BK11 is at the point where it needs to stripped of the finish it is so well used.

Since this is just for fun...

Right now the best I have would be a Cold Steel SRK and a slightly bigger TOPS that looks like the Firestrike.

I'm thinking about adding something like a BK9 to the pile, trying to not get sucked into the fighting between BK lovers and ESEE lovers and Busse lovers.
