Just got 4 CF/ZDP Caly 3.5's, not a single one of them has a straight blade...

Sounds like the forums are here for guys to critique the posts of other guys. 2 pages and 40 posts. Congrats. That may be a new record.

To the fanbois.

This forum is here to discuss Spyderco knives. The good and bad.

If there is a production issue with this model, Spyderco would like to know about it.
Sal has said in the past, the forums are here for this purpose and more.

I totally agree. I have had excellent luck with Spyderco knives but have had to send a couple in to CS. Never had any problem with CS but I would rather not have to go to the trouble.

I don't think there is anything wrong with the OP and frankly the reason CTS bought four is irrelevant to the issue. I have one on the way and I hope mine is okay but if not I'll likely mention it too. Spyderco needs to know if there's a problem and as long as folks are civil about it then I think it's a good thing.

yeah, putting a company's reputation on blast is exactly what sal wants.

i just love how no one can ever say, "hey, that's your opinion and i respect that".

instead of getting into a debate, i should have just said "here we go again".

;)

Are they at least Hair whittling sharp? I feel your pain, the box my Delica 4 arrived in had a scratch in it, this is unacceptable to me.

This is useful info to anyone considering buying one of these.

I think he was just trying to understand the logic behind buying 4 of the same knife.

Why does there have to be a logic? People have always just bought what they bought. I pick up multiples all the time. Fact is that a hobby is, always has been, and always will be a luxury and not a necessity. No one is forcing anyone to buy or not buy a thing from anyone. It's a shame that some folks lose sight of that completely.

I was just trying to interpret what he was saying. I'm all for pre-need replacements. I just got 3 plain paramilitary 2's today because i wear mine out frequently.

Ding ding ding! Rev nails it.

I am shocked by the sheer amount of fluff posted in this thread. Seems like 2/3 of the posts in this thread are ones which focus on me and my motives, while having absolutely nothing to do about Spyderco, or knives at all for that matter. This feels much less like a discussion forum, and more like the halls of a middle school.

I know, I wasn't directing my comment towards your reply. I just find it strange that people make threads like the one cosmo linked to.

Here CTS, the reply you been needing to hear to quit your whining.

I would suggest giving Spyderco a call and seeing what they can do for you. Here is their #: Toll-Free: 800-525-7770 with Hours: (Mountain Standard Time) M-F 7:30am - 4:30pm

May I also suggest contacting the place where you bought the knives from and seeing if they could possibly be returned or exchanged for ones without the problem you are experiencing?

Also, you originally asked "How does Spyderco go about fixing something like this?" Its hard to tell, we are not Spyderco. Only they can give you the information you are seeking.

Since the Caly3.5 CF/ZDP is new to the market it will be hard to tell if anyone has the same QC issues of the ones you posses. Only time will tell.

Hope this helped!

Buy 4 of the same knife?

What was he thinking?

What about the little children in Africa who have no knives!
