Just ordered a Ganzo g710

So this has been beaten to death and everyone probably wants to see this die. But I had down time and read all the posts. It only got mentioned once and then ignored that Ganzo's purpose is not to be sold in the US and that retailers are choosing to do so. That's not Ganzo's fault. They are supposed to be China and not come to the US. I would like to see more discussion and opinions on that aspect of things. Viability of producing this in a foreign market is a different beast when different incomes come into play. I'm guessing your average Chinese citizen cannot afford a Benchmade vs. a Ganzo. Supplying to your domestic market is a different stories. Loopholes are being created to ship them to American but I don't know that Ganzo should be blamed for that unless a direct link can be made that they are creating the loop hole. <--- but maybe this point has been addressed in other threads?

So why is much of their stuff in English? What are the knife laws in China?

They have a U.S. website with a U.S. phone number right beside a Chinese phone number. I think they like selling in the US. Just apply some Google-Fu and you too will find that site.

You already know that their laws do not prevent them from copying a design that is not internationally patented.
We already know that you think it is morally wrong, even though not illegal, and that you have indicated you are more upset about what you perceive as an immoral act than an illegal one.

And you failed to address the point of the post.

Read it again. If they are made for the home market then why is their stuff written in English. If they are made for the home market then why is it questionable if the knife is even legal there. BT93 makes even more points along these lines. When accusing another of not addressing a post it is best to address the post. Rather you address me. See the irony?

These Ganzos aren't made for sale in China. Locking blades are illegal, that's why if you look on the LiarExpress site many sellers photoshop out the lock mechanism.

Got it, so this is convincing to me. There would be no reason to have a US number if they're not selling here. My thought with English would be they could maybe sell to Europe, Australia, any number of markets. But you guys are right, I didn't really think about the locking mechanism. Many markets don't allow for that at all. Good points.

Ya know, you people are both right, it would seem.

Ganzo would appear to be okay doing whatever it does outside the US, but it would appear that Ganzo is making it appear as if it does do business in the US, NY more specifically, from a cursory look and if that website is Ganzo. With NY contact number, but no provided address, specified city or any known record registered to do business in NY, it would seem.

That would appear to be a violation to any good patent and also doing business sufficient to satisfy reach. Good luck getting anybody to come over though.

Still, BM could go after Ganzo if it wanted, get a order to prevent ban import, but apparently isn't for reasons unknown.

Prior connection? Prior connections by way of factories farmed for HK, culminating to the end of HK production and use of overseas manufacturing by BM because this is what happens, make America Strong again?

Ganzo G710 is such a great knife especially for this price. I really like sharpness of the blade and built quality of this model. [Link removed] Highly recommended. If you buy this implement you won't be dissapointed. I plan on purchasing more Ganzo knives.

You have 5 posts. 4 of them break the rules. Your sole purpose seems to be to advertise Ganzo knives.

Yup. Hopefully something will be done about his links in all those threads. He seems to be confused about what we think of counterfeits here. My guess is that he hasn't bothered to read the rules.

^^"If you buy this implement you won't be disappointed."

Hot copy straight off Chinese Counterfeiting, LTD's marketing dept presses.

If you must buy a counterfeit/clone/rip-off, at least have the good form to make it a Strider counterfeit/clone/rip-off.

Engrish can be fun!

I can't talk to much trash because I did pick up one of their switchblades. Made sure it was not a direct copy of something in production and still gave it away because I felt dirty.

Love this little gem from their site though: "The company has received more than one hundred national patents on the technology used in the production of its knives. And the achievements of other international companies are also actively used. As a result, Ganzo knives became the tools that combine reliability, practicality, modern shape, quality materials and optimal cost."

Never again. Too many decent budget blades made by decent companies that I need to support first.

What a slimy statement. They should just say "we steal designs and technology from most of the top knife companies". Hopefully people can see right through that BS statement.

Come to think of it, this might be a loophole that might be deemed worthy of looking into.

Not that I condone the purchase of clones overall, but if it is a strider and does a disservice to the inventor of that knife, would that be a bad thing?

*Only speaking of Strider in particular*
