Ka-Bar's new Fun stuff: Zombie Killers

Sorry for the delay my friends, but when at SHOT. Ok, all of the fixed blades are .188" and are made of 1085 carbon the same as all the heavy choppers in the KA-BAR line. That little folder is AUS8 and very similar in construction to the Dozier folders just a bit bigger. The Tanto "Famine" and "Death" dagger are both 8" long blades. The "War" sword and "Pestilence" chopper are both 10" long blades.

It is the JAB handle in Bio-Hazard green and the MAP price on the line is $45. The chopper is based off an old Case folding machete from WWII and the Dagger is based off a Western WWII trench knife.

I LIKE THE GREEN HANDLES!

please make matching NEON orange handles so i can have one of each on a knife,

1085. Good choice:thumbup:! Works great on the heavy bowie. Any idea of a Rockwell hardness on the choppers?

I believe the rockwell is the same as the heavy choppers.

Identical to the JAB sheaths except black with green cord and the "acheron" (skeleton bacon maker in black) in the pouch for free.

so the "acheron" around the same size as the ramora or piggyback? is it 1085 also?

at first i didnt like the hawkbill one but seeing your picture of it i think i like that one the best lol

I dig them. I have no use for them, but I dig them.

EDIT: On a second look, that chopper at .25" thick looks like a fricking beast. I like the JAB handles a lot. I really hesitated in trading my potbelly, but it was never for lack of style or ergonomics. I think that guy will be a real hit.

hey Bob, don't forget photos of the booth, and Ethan and TOoOJ and yourself of course :> also, the ESEE booth ;) heh.

do you know when these are going to be available? i'm actually liking the look of the Case machete/bolo model (always have).

which reminds me, i still haven't ordered Toooj's cutlass machete and khukri :)

get the whole set.

So could we call these the G-JAB(gee-jab) collection, Green Johnson's Adventure Blades?

I do like the big chopper.

I dunno, not alot about these is really appealing to me right now. Of course that is just via pictures, in hand it might be a different story, but the blade shapes, as seen in this media, well, I don't like 'em. Those handles would help you keep from losing them I suppose, and I don't really have a problem with the colors, but yeah, those shapes just kinda put me off a bit.

From what I've read above (sideshowbob8's post), the choppers are closer to 3/16" thick. I still like them. 1/4" inch thick would be awesome, but no big whoop.

They are neat blades but I don't like the ZK name for them, I find the whole zombie thing to be silly and played out...

People with there "zombie response bags"...etc. give me a break....

The green handles are cool and all but the blade shapes are ridiculous! I wonder what the steel and the handles are made of? Only time will tell if these will sell lol.

specs on steel previously covered in this thread :D

guys: should i do an FAQ on these? ;););)

Just out of curiosity, if these were not being called "Zombie Killers" and came with the 2 handle sets (black and whatever that color is), but were pictured with the black handles, would ya' like them better? Seriously. I honestly like two of the choppers, the Brute-ish one and the billhook (although, I would probably modify the tip a bit to make it a bit more pointy). If they're made well, I don't see anything mall ninja-ish about them outside their name. Except for that fixed tanto. That really does look like something BudK would carry.

I wouldn't. No offense to anyone but I never liked the JAB knives - and they appear to be sensibly designed. These things have the features of JAB knives that I dislike (ok - I hate those handles) coupled with silly blades.

Bleah. Have I mentioned, yuck? Just my opinion - others have other opinions just as valid.

I'm a knife buying peasant which means that I can like whatever I like with no loss of status. We are free once past the ego. I like some of what I see and I'm really up for that big pseudo Brute. Good for you Ka-Bar to have the imagination and stones to step out of the box.

I'm with holding any more comments on any of the new stuff, until I get to handle it at Blade.
