The ebay reference is ever bit valid since I was going to pay, none of this would hav occured. He didnt need to hold it, he was getting the money within a few hours. what could have happened is irrelvant, he could have not been able to sell it for reason, why dwell on hypotheticals?

To set the record straight ( I have the email) you posted I'll take it and when I sent you paypal info you asked me to wait a couple hours to see if you could score a different NMFBM you liked better, but if that deal didn't work out you would reward me by buying my knife. I simply informed you that we don't do those things here and to look elsewhere. Leave this post alone, I need serious people to buy these knives.

I probably would have apologized accept for Daves attitude from the begining. I asked another seller to send me some pics and Daves first email to me was threatening he saw that and that I better not back out. I said that Dave replied first so I was taking his but there was a long shot on a different style I was looking at and I would have payment to him with a few hours. He replied the offer was revoked.

You're playing games, and folks here tend to keep score on that account.

BCS sales involve simultaneous payment, so that comparison doesn't even work. You don't email Skunk and say, "I'll take it," and then take several hours to decide if you want to pay. In fact, I believe the cart resets to zero after fifteen minutes or so if you don't take action. Pretty much, the cart makes the decision for you if you don't pay.

My point though? Saying "I'll take it" is not the same as putting an item in an online cart.

Oh and BTW, Skunk is known for lightning fast shipping. In most cases, if you wait till next day, your knife is already going to be en route.

Here's a question for Berak. When you commit to buy on eBay, do you email the seller and tell him to wait a few days on the payment so you can see if you win an auction item you like better?

You should have not said "I'll take it". You should have said "You really, really, like it" and asked him to give you dibbs if he could afford to wait three hours for you to decide. At least he could have agreed or declined to do that for you. You might cost him a sale if another serious buyer passes in the three hours after you said you would take it.
