I appreciate Kershaw and other companys willingness to discuss new products at all LOL. Peoples expectations are unrealistic and they forget its a privledge to hear about new products. No release dates were given.

If folks have pissy attitiudes about products in the pipeline they will cause the manufacturers to not discuss new designs. I enjoy hearing about new products and don't mind at all my pre-order sitting at KC for a cryo even though I have no idea when they will be released. The retailer won't charge my card till they ship and I get to enjoy being one of the first to get a new product when they do finally ship to the dealers.
 
I like what Blizzard entertainment (they make video games) says about their release dates: "when it's ready"

Sure, it can be a little frustrating to wait for something you want, but would you really want it before it's ready? And anyway, I'd rather have the little frustration of waiting for it be be ready than the huge frustration of missed ship dates or half baked products.
 
When I preordered mine in Feb, all I could see was "available summer 2012." Afterwards, I saw the highly unofficial March 23 rumors, and then my preorder status changed from "backordered" to "processing." Unless someone saw or heard something else from KAI, I don't see how we can expect these guys before summertime. Yes, they preview them at shows. Yes, they are (or, at least, were) available for preorder. Yes, we WANT THEM NOW! But that does not change the fact that the expected release date is summer 2012.
So, we wait. I still want mine now, but I have other things to use (and buy) in the meantime.

Thomas W - thanks for the updates, and getting KAI's collective $#!* together. Just let us know when you know when they're coming!
 
I'm content to wait. KC keeps sending me those update emails, and I suspect that Kershaw is not just sitting on 8 shipping containers full of Cryos in the parking lot in Tualatin while they finish their coffee.
Looking forward to the knife and it will be here soon enough.
 
I just put in my pre-order. This is the first knife I've ever pre-ordered. I'll be happy to sit here and wait until it's released.

Me too. I figure with the way this one will sell, I might as well get on the list.
 
I haven't pulled the trigger on puting in my pre-order yet, as I would rather purchase from Kershawguy, but I'm not sure if I can resist the temptation...
 
checking in on the Cryo (checked last about a month or so ago).....myself and most the Police i work with would like to buy this knife Thomas. Could you slap some g10 scales on it for me please with dark "police blue" liners? Price point is nice on this one. Might pre-order, might wait and use my amazon prime; doesn't matter i'm gonna buy several as long as it doesn't get silly like with the leek (advertisements on my knife like orange county choppers do nothing for me).

No need to stop buying a knife you like, just because they offer variants of the same knife.
 
Haven't seen this discussed yet, but anybody know what the grind will be like on it? I'm hoping this follows the 0550 and 0560 with a flat grind, but in the video it looks like it might have a hollow grind.
 
Can someone send me the pre-order info? I found a couple sites but didn't feel comfortable putting in my order there. They seemed like smaller and less reputable sites.

Knife Center and GPKnives are both dealers here and if you look up their websites you'll see preorders for them.
