Kershaw Knives News Thread

I thought I would make up for all the Football talk yesterday, so here are some pics of a few of Ken Onion's masterpieces. I took these pics from kenonionknives.com. Unfortunately, I didn't take the pics myself.

I like the Taboo the best obviously, but the Dead Sexy really earns its name!

A old style Bump blade, with a serial # 0550? I thought they switched at 0300? Weird!

Is there an ETA for the Zero Tolerance 0121 and the ZT0500? I haven't seen either of them on the Kershaw site.

1) Where the hell are all of the Random Leeks?

2) I bought an E.T. (rainbow/black) and don't think its anything special.

3) The G10 Leek is the best knife ever made. I bought another one last week. Second favorite is my Blur (SG10 model).

4) SpeedSafe absolutely rules.

5) I'll never buy anything designed by Strider (we all know why), and wish Kershaw had nothing to do with him. OK, got that off my chest and feel better now.

6) Everything Ken Onion designs is sexy as hell.

7) The Taboo should go into production first.

8) Please make some 4.5 - 6.0" folders for those of us who can legally carry them.

9) When will that ZT OTF auto be coming out? :)

10) The next three Kershaws i'll buy are a Trooper, ST random leek, and a ZT 400ST.

i agree with ya. an otf ZT?? that would be interesting to say the least. where do you live? im in ohio and if i were to get a 4.5 - 6 inch folder and carry it, the cops would have a fit. not that i wouldnt buy one!

i'm in Missouri. as long as you have a CCW, you can pretty much carry whatever you can conceal ... large knives, brass knuckles, blackjacks, etc. the CCW law is ambiguous wrt carry of automatic knives by CCW holders, but i don't have enough spare $ to be the one who creates case law for that one yet.

1. Kershaw got a little behind because we kept pestering them to hurry up with the ZDP Cyclone, so they concentrated on those. Give them some time to catch up!:)

5. I don't know why...? What's wrong with Strider?

8. What would you need a 6" knife blade for? What can you do with a 6" blade that you cant do with a 3-4" blade? In lieu of a gun, in a trained and licensed hand, Pepper Spray is probably better than a knife for Self Defense. It seems like a 6" folder would be very heavy too...

Just my opinion though

The Dead Sexy and Inferno are really nice... I'd probably buy one of those some time down the road with the right blade steel...

I will not justify or pretend to be able to verify this but supoposedly Strider is a felon who plagerized his military record to lend credibilty to his business. I have never figured out the truth of the situation but that is what he is refferencing. In any case it has its own threads and is old news.

Now wheres those rainbow grooves!?!?

well, can't argue with that. guess i do need to buy one of those. :)

hunting polar bears.

What can you do with a 6" blade that you cant do with a 3-4" blade?

stick it in about 2-3" deeper.

It seems like a 6" folder would be very heavy too...

Just my opinion though

if they can make a 2.3oz 3" leek, they can make a 4.6oz 6" folder. :)

or since they make a 8.6oz 3.25in ZT maybe it would come out at just over a pound... a 6in folder that lite probably wouldn't make the best polar bear ka-bobs:D

Speaking of. Had mine apart the other night for 2nd militec application and cleaning after a week's use.
Click for pic, If you've ever wanted to see the internals. Larger bronze washer is showing some wear/thinning in one spot already, hard to take pics of but it appears that the edge on the blade side is rounding/thinning out.
