Kershaw Knives News Thread

Thanks all for the encouraging words. The sale was a great time, always good to mingle with the public.

Lenny, the 2 all black Spec Bumps are the first (now discontinued) and second generation versions that were/are regular production. The other 4 are proto's that were made. That clad ZDP/Micarta (the uncoated one) version is a knife I carried for 8 months or so, sweet piece. At this point I don't see another SB variation, at least in the near future.

Hi Jeremy, no it's not for sale, it's part of my rotation.:D I have had a ton of offers on it though.

Thomas, I just have to say....... YOU ARE KILLING ME WITH THAT PICTURE OF THE JYD IN YOUR AVIATAR!! :D I am waiting on pins and needles for one of those! (now, I feel better!)

Some more teasing for everyone...Here's a pic and specs on the upcoming Lahar (VG-10, flipper, G-10). Thanks to Thomas for letting me post this.

Well I've found my next EDC knife for urban carry....or any carry for that matter....thanks JSR

Thanks JSR.
The Lahar is made in Japan, sports VG10 w/G-10 scales, Galyean design, $99.99 MSRP. It is a very smooth manual flipper. Hopefully you all will like it.

Thomas that knife is absolutely what I was looking for from Kershaw.
Can we expect more VG-10 knives in this price range in the future?

Well this price range was tough Joshua. This will be the second knife in this price range that we have done up in VG-10 (1993-2 was the other) over the last few months.
I believe you will see additional VG-10 knives from Japan, maybe 2-3 patterns a year, but our continued focus will be USA made products.
This does assist in rounding out our line up, and fills a void where we were a bit weak.

Thomas - how thick is the liner lock on the Lahar? Is it 0.07" like on the JYD?

Now thats a nice looking folder right there.

Anyone got an opinion on speed bump. I am thinking of buying a speed bump but I am not sure if I should get the speed bump or wait on the Junkyard Dog II.

It felt well put together and if you want a large AO folder with pretty good steel, it's not a bad price either. However, the handle definitely looked cheap and plasticky to me. But, that doesn't seem to bother the minigrip or delica fans in the crowd, so, shouldn't bother the Kershaw ones either.

I guess what I'm trying to say that if you like AO, it's a good beater.

I just got my hands on the ZT0200 and man is it SWEET! Check out the Knife passaround forum to see my initial thoughts.
