Kershaw Knives News Thread

I just bought a Kershaw E.T. with black blade and combo edge. I can't wait to get it. Would this be a good place to put a review of it when I get it?

Please post it in the "Knife Reviews" Section. I would like this thread to remain dedicated to current and future Kershaw events as much as possible. Thanks! Hope you enjoy the ET!

Sorry to get off topic, but I just now figured out your name. I thought it was Chinese or something. New York Giants fan. Man. That makes a lot more sense.

I'm an idiot.

Thomas - any plans for another folder about the same size as the Leek (3" blade, 4" handle) with all G10 scales? I'm really looking for something in that size and wish many of the Kershaws currently and soon-to-be available were that size (or slightly smaller, maybe 3.7-4" closed). Thanks.

Edit: G10 scales please.

Didn't my avatar of the N.Y. Giants Football player (Antonio Pierce) de-cleating the Bronco player clue you in? :D

I think the "nyg" part threw you off. Plus, why would anyone advertise being a NY Giant fan here in the Dallas Area?

JSR-- The small Junkyard Dog is the same size as the Leek, but with a much beefier blade. I don't think Kershaw wants to create any other knives that size since the Leek is such a strong seller. The Mini Cyclone and the Storm 1 are also similar to the Leek in overall length. The Storm is probably the best sub-$30 knife you can buy.

Oops, sorry, I forgot to state a fully G10 clad knife in the Leek size range. I agree with you tho NYG that I doubt Kershaw will release anything else in that size because of the Leek's popularity, but sadly, I'm not that big a fan of the Leek. I do have a Storm coming in (hope it didn't get lost in shipment), and I like the JYD and Mini-Cyclone, but I really want sub-4" closed folder with G10 scales with a different blade design than the Leek. If Kershaw made a G10 version of the JYD (small version, not the JYDII) or Mini-Cyclone, ooh, that'd be nice.

I would also like to see Kershaw have a forum here. I believe that Kai is a good corporate citizen, with a good corporate ethic. I believe that Thomas would be an excellent face for the company as he appears to be an honest person of integrity and has earned his bones here.
Having said that, I'm not really a fan of the Onions, but I love my Gentlemen's folder. My favorite Kershaw's are the 1614 XXL Starkey Ridge. My Question is,"Where is Starkey Ridge?, and why was it important enough to name a big knife after?"
THOMAS!!!

The Avalanche is about that size maybe a little bigger but not by too much.

Avalanche is 4.5" long closed...I'd prefer something sub-4". I've been eyeing the Avalanche tho, but it's still longer than what I'm really looking for.

AM - I mentioned a few posts up that I'm not really a big fan of the Leek. There is a Blur w/ silver twill G10 inserts, but the Blur's bigger than I want for this knife (4.5" closed) and I want full G10 handles, not inserts. So far, the only option is the Leek, but I don't really like the Leek.

I suppose I'd suggest you find a Kershaw in that size you like and have STR make new scales of it. The Mini mojo has a g10 insert though.

The Mini Mojo is on my to get list, but I'm waiting for the switch to 13C26. Good suggestion on the custom scales...I'll see how much STR charges.

He's the resident backyard knife mechanic. He does a lot of work around here, like new scales, new clips and blade shape modifications. He did a lot of tsunami mods before the waved delica/endura came out. When I get some more time away from the university, I'm hoping to get some much improved clips for a few Benchmades.

Initially, I have to admit that I was not drawn to kershaw. The knife that changed that was the new Offset. I know that some are thrown by the splash colored handle. After seeing and handling it in person gave me a great respect for Kershaw. It is a brute to say the least! I will not get into the sd aspects and pull cuts that this model lends itself to, but the quality build of the folder is applaudable. The splash on the handle to me lends itself to somewhat of a sheeple look for such a large knife. Hey every little bit helps! Now after saying that, the G10 handle in IMO will push this model over the top. I am looking forward to it,
