Kershaw Knives News Thread

I'm looking forward to the new JYD models, wish they came in something better than 12C26, but the design is pretty awesome.

Both JYD's, the Groove, Need's Work, S30V Blur, and G-10 Offset will be out in Jan.

We have some work to do.;)

Some more teasing for everyone...Here's a pic and specs on the upcoming Lahar (VG-10, flipper, G-10). Thanks to Thomas for letting me post this.

Wait... so the new "flippers" require a flick of the wrist and not just the built up pressure from the index finger?

:(

Vassili, the G10 is Black, the blade is black Tungsten Coated I believe.

Jigglyjames, Kershaw is over stating the flick. Once the knife has been "broken in", you probably won't have to flick your wrist at all to open it as long as you exert enough pressure on the flipper. I just got done reviewing the Zero Tolerance 0200 which has a flipper, and even with a big thick blade like the 0200 I could open the blade just by pushing firmly on the flipper.

jiggly, there will be no break in period needed with the Lahar, it will be "slippery" from the get go.

For those of you that have played with flippers, you know that a small bit of technique can go a long way when opening this category of knife. I can make the Lahar slam open hard with no wrist flick.

The JYD's and Groove are designed slightly different than the Lahar, but work the same fluency IMO. For those that know flippers, no wrist action will be needed with these new Kershaw's. If you haven't ever played with a flipper, you will need to open these about 4 or 5 times before you have it down. Short learning curve, and a ton of fun.

The G-10 Offset will have the same blade, but is done up in a gray finish.

CHP5, the Lahar is looking like March at the earliest.

Now I'm not sure quite yet about delivery on our new Lee Williams flippers.

Zidane, I am very pleased to hear we have won you over.

Another very nice offering to wait for...PE S30V Blur!!! Hmm...Blur...Lahar...Blur...Lahar...

Thanks to Thomas for the info.

I'd sure like it if a lot of these knives were tapped so the pocket clips could be used for left-handed carry, the Stud-Lock ones especially, but the rest would be nice with ambi-clipped options, too.

G-10 Offset, JYd's out in January, I've got to start saving money. Good thing my birthday is in January. Can't wait to see that new Offset.

Hello Thomas,

Wouldn't it be great if the new OffSets came with a choice of G10 colors? Then I might "need" more than one.

Those are certainly some fine looking knives. I'm really looking forward to next year.

I got my Speed Bump in the mail the other day and I have to say after using it a couple of days at work that I am impressed. I was not sure I would like the blade shape, but it works great. Really like the knife, not that I am surprised it's a Kershaw so I knew the quality would be there. I have never been disappointed by any of the Kershaw knives I have bought. I am really looking forward to Christmas when I will finally get my zt0200.

I'll be glad when the new website is up and running! All the pics Thomas is teasing us with will be on the new site.
