If not having "Made in USA" on the blade bothers you that much, send it to me so you won't have to look at it anymore.

i know this is a knife forum. when you buy a gun, dont you look at the barrel to see where its made? no one i know looks at the stock. they are up to something. lets take away the usa on the blade and if no one notices or cares, they later wont care if china pops up on it. im i insane?

On a semi-suto pistol, the slide may have where it's made or the frame may have where it's made, rarely will both have where it's made. Does that bother you too? What about he barrel and guide rod, do they need to be marked for country of origin? You are over thinking this and making something out of nothing.

i agree. not all usa made products are perfect. my last leather man surge hade big isues. but i refuse to put some china junk in my pocket other than my phone wich i dont have a option. no harbor freight for me. i have no problem with japan, germany, usa steel. keep the china steel for digging up rocks.

I dunno man, I buy American Shovels. What's your problem? ;)

It's just something they did recently. Couldn't begin to tell you why? My cf154 and CFGRN blurs are not marked with it but my older blurs are (BOR,SG10,SG2,CBZDP,etc..) hence a few/couple yrs, whatever. As said above the boxes and the description for them says "Made In The USA". All out of country knives are marked as such though (Japan, China). Don't believe me, just call up the factory :)

asking questions is okay right? don't want to offend any kershaw clan with a question.:)

i have a couple modern kershaws and they are marked....so maybe it's a slow change over or mine are old stock? don't know, but i was confusing the way you put it with the "everyone and their uncle knows....." cause i was looking at mine while reading what you wrote and it was newer and it was marked. hence the question...what was i missing? thanks for the follow up..appreciated.

Prepare to be dissapointed, my new benchmade doesn't say made in USA anywhere (except the box and all packaging material & advertising) all it says on the knife is "US PATENT #"

It should say USA right below the butterfly and above the model number on the blade if it's a US model. I'm not positive on that but I'm pretty sure that's how all the US made Benchmades are.

BM did have a Chinese line, Benchmade branded knives are made in the USA again. Let's keep current info going and incorrect info at bay.

sorry. I should had said rifle. You know what iI mean

In the interest of semantics, and correctness, you can go to the Benchmade web site right now, today, and they are selling knives that are "branded" lone wolf and most of those knives are sourced outside of the USA.

So, call it what you want, Benchmade is selling knives made offshore.

I am sure they are of fine quality, just as the Kai offshore products are fine quality.

I was SPECIFICALLY referencing toothy's assertion that he/she is going to sell Kershaw products (that are made in the usa by the way) to buy a Benchmade product, with the implication that all Benchmade products are USA made.

best

You meant rifles but you didn't answer the question regarding pistols? You must be a gun guy since you brought them up as an analogy, so rifles are stamped the way you prefer, does it bother you how semi-auto pistols are stamped for country of origin?

I don't want to get into this either but maybe this will be of help; if the knife has Benchmade on it that will be a US made knife. I know all about the companies under their corporate umbrella, but to state Benchmade has Chinese knives is a bit deceptive and to a newb it would leave a certain impression, no?

I do my research on my knife/gun/anything..BEFORE I purchase.
