I don't want to get into this either but maybe this will be of help; if the knife has Benchmade on it that will be a US made knife. I know all about the companies under their corporate umbrella, but to state Benchmade has Chinese knives is a bit deceptive and to a newb it would leave a certain impression, no?

And likewise, to say that they DON'T have Chinese knives is also deceptive. So all the info is out there and even a newb should be able to decide.

I am happy that as much stuff on the Benchmade site IS USA sourced, and I do make my purchases with this in mind, but that is more of a reflection of me as a consumer in a certain bracket than a poor reflection on any product a company has made offshore.

Well I guess I'm the only troll out there that has a problem with this

If your problem is that your Blur does not say USA made and was made in the USA, I think this is the first I have heard of someone with that issue.

I will let the record decide if you should be categorized as a troll - not my call.

Also, keep in mind in regards to the OP's original inquiry; Kershaw recently released the Speed Bump made in China. On a certain huge website it was listed as a USA made Kershaw, when they started arriving in customers hands they were stamped China. I am not speculating that will happen to any of the other Kershaw US-made classics but it sure as heck could.

To solve my problem iI will just return it and find what iI am happy with. The minds in this country has gone long to shit.

Not really sure what all the fuss is about; everyone knows Blurs are made in the US, even the new ones that don't have the marking on the blade. For me, as long as I know from other sources (packaging, handle, paperwork, ect.) where the knife in question is manufactured, I couldn't care less if it says "Made in _" on the knife or not. It's just a detail to show your non-knife friends.

Prepare to be dissapointed, my new benchmade doesn't say made in USA anywhere (except the box and all packaging material & advertising) all it says on the knife is "US PATENT #".

Are you sure about that? Cause all my Benchmades have "U.S.A." underneath the butterfly logo, right above the model number. That would be interesting if yours didn't tho.

PaulTR, you have a point, and don't forget there are really convincing fakes out there... Toothy, can you post a pic?

the grammars in this country has long gone to shit.
To compete in the world economy we will need to stay in school, speak and write clearly and don't forget, POISE counts!

To a more interesting subject, you've got a JW Smith custom in your pocket! uhhhh scurvy?

it's never too late to go back to school. just wish we had some bargaining power. :D

I'd admit, my grammar stinks. But then I don't sit behind a desk and talk on the phone all day. If I did I would be in trouble.

Benchmade > Kershaw :)

Both have plants here in Oregon. Benchmade is known for it's awesome balis and high quality AFCKs..

Kershaw is more common it seems, and more popular with the inexpensive crowd here. :P

Either way, your grammar does stink, but you sound like english is your second language or you are 13yrs old.

Oh, and supporting USA made is a good thing. But nearly impossible.. You think all the tools they use are USA made? All parts? The steel even? Doubtful. All we can do is try though. Vote with your dollar, may the richest voters win... sigh.

You want to return a knife because it doesn't have a made in usa etching?? Seems petty to me....but different strokes eh?!? Manufacturers are constantly updating their materials, KAI in particular and therefore several similar models may have variations on the etchings. This does not mean they are no longer made in the US. I dont stamp Made in USA on all my custom work....doesn't mean i outsorced my work;-) And most custom makers dont stamp US Made all over their work, etchings detract from design and aesthetics. Perhaps you can try judging the knife on its merits & performance?
