Kershaw Tilt...again.

Kneedeep, thanks very much for that video! If the Tilt is in fact like that (which i'm sure it will be) it'll work amazingly well with that flipper. Have you found that that sort of pivot design needs more or less maitenance?

I haven't had any maintenance issues with the R.A.Z.R. The only reason I took it apart was to clean some oil from under the scale.
The bearing system was very simple to take apart and reassemble. The fact that the ball bearings are captured made it a real breeze. No need to worry about sneezing during assembly like bearing systems with balls loose in races. :D
I think the biggest issue will be for people that tinker too much and will potentially over tighten the pivot. The blade still moves pretty well when it is over tightened, but I imagine the bearing surfaces will wear much faster.
Other than that, it would really just have most of the normal considerations for any folding knife.

Is this a Galyean design? I think I can see some certain trademark traits. Also, is it easy to open the knife with the thumbstud? I know some flippers have a stronger detent in order to make it flip easier, though I was wondering if it would make opening with the studs more difficult.

In the back, couple Ti framelocks trying to be hidden into obscurity with a random skyline liner + scale...

Where does the middle piece with the word tilt go? is it covered up with the carbon fiber scale?

In-house design. The proto I handled was easy to open with both thumbstud and flipper, IIRC.

Covered, it's a liner underneath the CF.

Ahhh yes, the Tilt, almost forgot about you.

Hmmm, I'll have an update next week as to its status.

so that means that it was brought up,,,,i know i should not assume,,just be happy this TILT is going be reality soon,,And i am

that video was scary.
Gravity knives are illegal here in CA :(

Don't forget, the R.A.Z.R. uses a Hawk Lock. When I released the lock, there was no real friction to slow the blade down. The Tilt is a frame lock, I'm sure it will likely have a relatively strong detent to keep it closed, and the lock will be touching the blade as it opens. In theory it shouldn't move a freely as the R.A.Z.R.

Can't wait to hear whats up. Thomas...looks like you may have to point me in the right direction as to where I can pick one up since the place I've had mine on order with said they probably will not be getting any. Any help would be much appreciated!
