Kershaw Tilt...again.

I need my dam tilt ....dam it haha. You can trust me, i will use the shit out of this knife at my plant nursery.i truly am a steel junkie and cant wait to try this vanax 75

Look, the Tilt is personal with me. Tommie worked his ass of on the design, and we shared closely on concept. Lots of back and forth. We both visualized it, and he nailed it. Hell, the two of us named the knife based on our love for pinball.
There are other reasons for my personal love behind the Tilt of which I'm not going to share, but it is the most satisfying piece I've ever been associated with. The whole project has been an emotional roller coaster, with delivery delays being the low point.

The Tilt does rock! From the brainstorming, to the ingredients, even down to the struggles. It's a story like few others, with images from start, anticipation, an American Made Knife of the Year shout out in the middle, down to the big finish we see here today. 36 pages started on 11-8-2010 and here it is. That doesn't happen often.

IMO, the Tilt is a filthy Ti framelock.

I'd like to think I had something to do with that too, I did suggest putting a Wharncliff blade on it back when you were just showing off the handle shape. Right, right, ok, probably not, but in my own little fantasy world, I did. :D

In all seriousness though, great Job the both of you. You really set the bar high with the Tilt.

Yep, these pictures have really gotten me going! Can't wait until I get my email from KershawGuy! Great work Thomas, I have to say nothing but good things coming out of Kershaw/ZT lately.

Feels like some grease might make it smoother.

Cannot give you this advice based on personal Tilt experience (still waiting), but in my experience with bearings (RAZR and bikes) you might want to loosen the pivot a bit. Bearings tend to feel rough if they are tightened down too much. With the KVT you should be able to adjust it to the point where you just have no play, and it should still turn freely. Of course some of the drag or roughness may be the detent ball.

Thomas as always, opinions on the Tilt will vary wildly, but I definitely feel that you and Kershaw have every right to be proud of the Tilt.

Got it , love it ................ now I wanna hear about Vanax 75 too. How good is it to be ?

It really is one hell of a good knife , IMHO .............everything about it is good for me .....I was surprised at how comfortable the handle was to grasp.

Thomas if I offended you or anyone else with the coating question, please forgive me as I definately did not mean too. This thread has 37 pages most of which I have not read. All the TILT photos I have seen on many dealers websites are of the non-coated I presume proto TILT, so I was surprised by the all black one pictured here. (Because I did not read the post) Does that mean I do not want a TILT, HELL NO! I want me a TILT!

I only had a few short hours to look over the Tilt before I shipped them out to customers. I have seen the prototype pictures and feel that the knife just wouldn't be right (for me) if it hadn't been coated. It felt good in my hand and looked good there. As I was getting ready to put it in my pocket for the first time, my brother reminded me that that particular knife was his and if it touched my blue jeans... well you get the picture.
I am a fan. I like this one. I only hope that there are more like it in the future. Great job Kershaw. Keep it up.

This knife is a home run and I will be keeping a few for myself ( yes my name was on the list) Kershaw gets a Free play for this one, KUDOS as always.

Just got the email from Dave and paid via PayPal! TILT!!!!! :D :D :D

Update: Less than 5 minutes after paying, I received a "your package is on its way" message from PayPal with a tracking number. I love Dave's ninja shipping department. :D

Must have been the same thing for me - Waited all day for this package that was out for delivery, and all I got was the notice that my homeowners insurance was due. Nice.

Guess I am waiting two more days to see the Tilt I have been excited about since June 2010.

Jason (2BKC) you could have tried out #18 before you shipped it to me. :)

Great knife love everything about it. It feels great in my hand, but it is huge. Makes the JYD2 look kind of small. :) I am ready for a Tilt 2 now. Make it about 4.25 closed and it has to be made in the USA. 14c28n will be fine also. Count me in for 2 for me and about 6 for gifts.

I wonder how the clip is on the tilt? It doesn't look that long..wouldn't want to loose it! Anyone handled one and tried the clip in there pocket?
