Haha...I think he's well aware im a "fanboy" by now....after two threads and alot of incessant pestering haha. You and Tony seem to be just as excited as I am. I'm just glad i'm not the only one. I really can't wait for this one anymore. Ever since I heard rumor that it would be comming out December or January, I've been like a little kid waiting for the ice-cream truck.![]()
 Right on. There is just something about the Tilt that calls to me. It's actually a number of things. The Vanax steel, the KVT bearing system, the carbon fiber, the Ti, it's a flipper, it's a wharncliffe, the lock bar cut on the bias (still friggin love this on my Speedform), tip up / tip down capability, and the clean overall look. Excited? Nah.... not even a little.![]()
Couple hundred.
the 75 was dropped?-vanax35
the 75 was dropped?
Seems we always have more orders than the production numbers with these boutique runs. Always brings on problems with dealers.Just curious and anxious to get one
How do you decide the quantity to be made? Do you look at the preorder book and make that or do you decide any number upfront?

I believe whoever ends up doing the grinds in particular will be giving you a glare that would put the most hardass drill sergeant to shameSeems we always have more orders than the production numbers with these boutique runs. Always brings on problems with dealers.
Each high end run is different, but as to the reason(s) why we come to a specific number, I really believe it comes down to how much strain the piece brings to the factory floor. There have been knives recently (Volt, Speedform) where I've demanded another short run, but got the evil eye so much so, that I let it go. Have to know when to pick your battles.
The Tilt will stretch the factory to the point where they will make a run, and will never want to think of it again.
Good or bad, quess that's what happens when you're a volume manufacturer making high end specialized knives.
No the V75 was not dropped.

I'm out sick today, but will send a really impatient email to the Factory Manager giving him the business on "where in the hell we are at with this piece already!"
I'll post his response.![]()

Thanks for all of your help Thomas, I really appreciate it. If its gonna get you into trouble though, don't worry about it. But if it gets the answers...Yea, I've already seen it, just by asking for an ETA for DrOpPoInT1110.
