KITH - Photos

Here is mine!
It is forged 1084, clay quenched with a nice hamon. The handle is black linen micarta, and stabilized curly maple. I fileworked the handle, and hand stitched the sheath. Just have to sharpen it. It is ready to go.

Well, this is my entry:

GroteFoto-SPPTSCDI.jpg

I think it would make a good bush knife

The blade is made of 'Niolux' a 'new' high-tech German stainless steel with niobium.
The handle is made out of Dutch white oak and Irish 6000-7000 y/o bog-oak.
Just for fun I carved an oak leave out of the butt.
The guard and pinn are brass with ss.
Truely European ;)
The seath is made out of vegetable tanned leather, covered with soft brown nubuc.

So what do you guys think?

I would like to compliment the KITH crowd on the fine quality of the knives this year. I would be proud to own any one of them ( and I will own one of them).

Also, a reminder to send me an email with your info when you post your knives.

Stacy

Oh I forgot to mention, the blade is hand filed and hand sanded up to 1000 gritt :D

Here is my entry, but needs a sheath, so I'm not ready yet. Tomorrow or so it will be done...
This wharnie is RWL34, green+black linen and denim micarta handle.

Here's the pics of mine, hope ya'll don't mind frontier style.
This one is a thin blade scalper style(my first), and is random damascus, stag handle with rawhide wraps, and a wrought iron buttcap with peened tang. OAL is around 10 inches. The sheath is highly decorated rawhide over veg-tan, and has the usual assortment of aged tin cones, fringe, antique trade beads and horsehair, stag concho, brass tacks,as well as a couple of different things such as a few "field repair" stiches towards the tip, and a braid of rawhide around the bottom of the flap.Hope ya'll like it, cause it's all I got:D

You guys have made some smokin knives! I hope to finish mine this week. The blade still needs some fine tuning. Here is a progress pic. CPM154 blade, tumbled with sand and ceramic, mild steel guard tumbled with the same, just got done nitre bluing it an hour ago. The mule deer antler is still in the pressure pot with dye. My goal with this caper is 100% subdued. The antler piece will be capped off on the butt with another piece of mild steel sand tumbled and nitre blued.

These are all wonderful knives. There are many great differences in detail and craftsmanship going on in this thread but all of it is good! I think i will get in on this next year.

Mine is done, i just need to do a sheath for it if i have the time. i will put up some pictures later.
Edit, waiting for my new stencil to come in.
