So im pretty pissed right now that my bank account is currently short $370.00 because of mistake knife outlet made, pretty much made because the lack of keeping track of your own inventory. I ordered a brous silent soldier framelock flipper from knife outlet last thursday. It was early morning too. So all day thursday-Sunday goes by and get no confirmation email. I call monday and talk to "fred" now im pretty sure im the customer not him. As soon as words start comming out of his mouth it was nothing but rudeness. I ask him why i havnt got a confirmation email and if my package will come with tracking, i also sent an email askin this same question on friday that was never responded too. He says oh never got an email from you. Then says he sent me an email saying this knife was not in stock his website saying it was in stock was a mistake, which is fine that happens alot with knife dealers. Website says in stock when really its not. He never sent me an email because i never got one, looked through my whole inbox, trash and spam. So conversation ends by saying my card will NOT be charged because we dont have the knife. Ok so now i buy a brous SS from someone else which is paid for and should be shipping today. I go online to look at my bank account and theres a $370.00 charge from knifeoutlet. I call him he says oh well i shipped you a knife and we charged your card. Now hes doing this without my permission because my last order was voided because he said he didnt have the knife. So now im out $370.00 for the next what maybe week to week and a half right before the hollidays because this guy charged my card without permission. He wont refund me the money until he gets whatever knife back he sent me, he couldnt evan seem to tell me what knife it was. Then i have to ship it back and wait until he gets it and refunds me. Almost $400.00 i dont have because of this. I will never deal with this company again. All the different knife dealers ive spent money with have never had that bad of customer service and no company that ive ever bought from period has charged my card and shipped something without my permission. Dont waist your time with this guy.

Call your bank that issued the card. They have ways of forcing the dealer to refund the money, especially on a case like this. Unfortunately, I have heard about a LOT of people having trouble with this company

sounds like not having an inventory system tied to shipments is a recipe for disaster and you were the casualty in this instance... surprised they're still in business at all if that's how they normally operate.

did the charge completely process or is it still pending? if it's still pending it's possible that it's just the temp charge and if nothing actually shipped it will drop off. (unlikely I suppose but figured id ask)

No the charge was originally pending from last thursday until sunday. Then was released not charged at all. Then a whole new charge was placed to my card for $370.00

And something did ship. I dont know what and i dont think he does either. I have a tracking number. Evan though he told me on monday the knife i ordered was not in stock and hee didnt have it and i wouldnt be charged. 2 days later im charged for a whole different transaction that i did not approve.

yeah, id definitely contact the c/c company and explain it as an unauthorized "second" charge as the first authorized one was canceled appropriately.

what's strange is, if he doesn't know what he shipped, how is he going to know what you return? you have to hope that the item ships with a receipt that appropriately lists what's in the box.

still sucks though, kyle. GL!

Just talked to my bank. Pretty much they said theres nothing they can do as far as forcing the vender to release the money back to my account. They said they have to give him a chance to correct the situation. If hes not willing to work with me then i can come in and file paperwork. So prettymuch im out $370.00 until whatever knife he shipped me comes in then i ship it back and wait til he receives it to refund me.

A quick Google search of knife outlet the 3rd result was complaints, so I clicked on that followed by many bad reviews, some on this forum some other places, and a few references to Fred, hope this ends well, if not maybe they shipped you a custom or something.

Google can be a great tool.

I find it hilarious that he has no idea what he shipped you!

Maybe you should relax and see what you get, could be a custom RHK, and then all will be more than fair!

If Kyle gets a custom RHK, I think we'll see him post a new thread for Fred in the "Hall of Fame" section

Essentially it's an unauthorized charge, I'm surprised they didn't at least temporarily credit your account and instruct you to refuse shipment. I wouldn't even open the box I would refuse it.

Dude listen to me. You need to call the credit card company, not talk to the people at the bank. Tell them you want to dispute the charge. They HAVE to issue you a credit until the dispute is resolved. Trust me on this, I know what I'm talking about. Merry Chrsitmas.

if he used a check card, which I think he used by the sounds of it most banks wont do as much as an actual credit card company. I try not to use my acutal bank card for buying of items online since some banks have a lengthy process to reverse charges. Big credit card companies are better about it and using a real credit card offers a lot more protection as a consumer.

I don't see how ole Fred is still in business! They did the same thing to me when I tried to order a Microtech Whaleshark. They charged my card and they didn't have the knife in stock,I called and he said he would ship it when he got one but he had no idea when. I asked him why it said in stock on the web site he said that everything says in stock. This guy is a real a-hole!
One call to my Credit card company I got my money back. Kyle if your bank or credit card company won't refund you immediately you need to find another provider not trying to be rude just trying to help.

Thanks for the advice guys. The card i used was a debit/credit card. Which is issued by my bank. For any purchase in store i pay by debit and online purchases by credit. But at the end of the day this card is linked to my checking account. It gets taken directly out of my checking. Its not a regular credit card. This "fred" guy is a complete ahole. I wasnt being the nicest person back to him but this is almost $400 of my hard earned money. I have the right to be pissed. Pretty much to fred this was not a big deal and he did nothing wrong. The way he sees it i made this ordered and he shipped out. Which is not the case.

If the transaction routed through the credit card network, you have the same protections as a credit card. I'm out. Good luck.

Get yourself a credit card and put your debit card away. You are much more protected in every transaction when you use a credit vs. debit card. That's why the banks push debit and debit/credit cards. If you pay your credit card off every month, the credit card is feee and you can cash in your points for cash.

With no exceptions I know of, charges have to be disputed in writing to a special address for the particular CC Co.

I have only had to deal with this type of issue once (lucky for me) I placed a call and faxed over the documentation. I got my credit and the business didn't dispute it. Cuz I was in the right.

I don't know how you send documentation that someone charged you for something you didn't buy, didn't even get a confirmation email. There ain't much of a paper trail there.

If your cc company makes you jumps through hoops instead of covering your butt from thievery. Get another cc. PM me and I will tell you who had my back.

I am going to call the bank back tomorrow and demand to talk to the bank manager about this. I only talked to one of the tellers earlier, so tomorrow i will talk to the manager and get this figured out and hopefully get my money back.
