That is a nice setup. Do u have any more details in that safe door option? Brand? Where did you buy?
Nanuk case.
I store mine on every flat surface in the house.![]()
An affordable alternative, if you decide to go with a burglar-friendly carry case, look at the Seahorse/Serpac cases. We use them at work for taking scientific gear in working underground mines. We've never had a failure. Although not as fancy, Seahorse/Serpac costs a fraction of Hurricane or Pelican cases. (I'm not familiar with Nanuk cases)
I did something similar to several of the others here, I bought a Husky tool box from Home Depot. It has several drawers which let me organize and I can lock them to keep the kids out.
I found a nice $80 solution for a smaller collection at Costco. It's not solid wood, but the build quality and finish detail is impressive for that price. Made by Trinity, each drawer is lined with felt, the front cover has magnets in the corners, and there are nice silicone feet on the bottom:

This is good. You may need some more knives to fill it.

Put it in your living room with a tablecloth over it.
Since the company isn't a BF paying sponsor I can't mention them or add a link. If you pm or email me I'll give you the details! It's a great company to support and comes in a few different varieties for just $10 each. They are marketed for safe doors and have industrial Velcro on the back but could be used practically anywhere.
