Knifemakers Workshop

When you guys draw your designs be sure to draw them with a scandi type grind, that's the grind we will be doing.

How's this look, any problems? Not to sure on pin location. I'm thinking bloodwood handle, brass pins? 1" x 7 3/8"

The designs shown so far have been relatively simple, that's exactly what you want for your first knife. This should be a fun weekend!

I'm also considering a "Make A Tin Knife" class. This would be a one day class at a reduced price.

I have been working on my design and it has changed several of times. Right now I have 4 to choose from.

Man this is going to be cool for sure! I hope someone is able to take some pics of the fun.

That's part of the fun!

I have the general design with different blade lengths. This is definitely going to be a small semi-wharn blade. Getting it to look right proportionally is pretty tough. I don't know how you do that John.

Good looking concepts, the bottom two and the second one down from the top look like they might be too big for the stock size however.

If 1" stock is used and the handle height is 5/8" - 3/4" that would give some room to keep the blade below the handle.

I am looking forward to seeing what comes out of this workshop.
Keeping my eyes on this thread!

I do hope to make one of these workshops. Unfortunately, this one falls on my birthday and I'll be in Michigan that weekend for that and to spend time with mom for a late Mothers Day.
