I placed an order the first part of the week, I have been charged and my order still has not shipped. Early today (8:30am est) I sent them an email asking whats going on but I have yet to hear back from them. This is the 2nd and last time I will deal with this company as this same thing happened the last time. They claim that 99% of their orders go out the same day but I have a hard time believing I am the 1% both times now. This order was for a gift this weekend but not anymore...

BladeHQ might be a bit more expensive but at least I know I will get what I ordered or a fast reply when I have an issue.

Oh I did notice they had time to post on the forums here today...

Maybe picking up the phone and calling them?

They do answer the phone.

I don't know but that sounds like an anomaly. I've never had anything other than good experiences with them. Heck just this week I've placed 2 orders with them. One placed late, late Tuesday night shipped on Wednesday and is sitting in my mailbox waiting on me to get home today. The other was ordered late last night and I've already got the shipping notification email today.

What did you order?

They should also answer emails since they do have one for customer service.

Funny, I place my order at 1pm est on Tuesday. I ordered a Manix 2 and a couple Leathermans.

I remembered I bought(tried to buy:rolleyes:) a BK5 & 15 from them and they charged me and then canceled the order since they were sold out.

I just bought a Bk14 from them last week and it's here now though. Nothing really bad to say.

Well i know these are the times of wanting and wanting it now but honestly i have no problem with how they do business. I think its easy to sit and think of all the things we feel entitled to but they just sing to a different tune. Some dealers bend over backwards (or just bend over depending how you lok at it) trying to make customers happy and since that train left the station it seems others have hopped onto a locomotive that has no brakes. But just because some choose the bullet train doesnt mean knifeworks s a bad store. They are just different.

To be honest i am more surprised at the threads started about them and people being displeased as most gripes are over unmet expectations rather than any real issue that deserves attention. My point being that many do research about every aspect of their purchase yet ANY research on knifecenter would show most individuals that they are a legit and honest business that runs itself more like fine dining rather than a drive thru. So where some see a business not living up to the standards set by some of its peers I see people getting irritated for what really is small potatoes in the grand scheme of things.

I have dealt with knifecenter numerous times. Sometimes its insane how fast items come others not so much. But I either always get my order or an explanatoon and a refund when i dont. At the end of the day something needs to be said for a "situation" that wouldnt be a situation at all if patience was a virtue held in higer regard than entitlement.

They do, might take a few days though. ;)

Calling is better if you need something NOW.

Soooooo I decided to give them a call. It seems that one of the items I ordered was not in stock so they thought it would be OK to charge my card for the full order and not send me an email to let me know one of the items was backordered. Unbelievable that a company would charge you for something they don't even have in stock and think it was OK to do... Sure I cancelled the order but now they have over $100 of my money tied up for a few days because of their dishonest business practices.

This isn't knifecenter that I'm dealing with...

NEVER had that happen to me with Knifeworks. ;)

My experience has been great. They are great to look through their inventory and find just the right knife for us picky people. I have had more issues with BladeHQ than with Knifeworks. Sorry about your experience.

Weird, I've ordered several times from them and they even allow me to order off the clearance items being within Canada. 0 issues ever. I agree with everyone make a phone call, don't flip just ask.

I was thinking knifecenter with the BK's. I have bought from Knifeworks over 10 times and have not had a single problem. Items go out of stock. It happens. I'm sure you"ll have your money back by Tuesday.

Never attribute to malice what can be attributed to negligence. If you never want to buy from knifeworks again that's fine, but calling them out for 'dishonest business practices' after a lapse in communication over a single sale is disingenuous at best.

Knifeworks is a fantastic company, and will take care of any issue you MIGHT be having. I have ordered from them for years, and have had NOTHING but great service. You should have called them before bashing them here. May I offer some cheese to go with your wine?

I spent over $5K at KW over the last 3-4 years and never had a problem. Roger and crew are good people and always provided excellent service at good prices.
