knifeworks.com (misunderstanding)

Seems like the OP should order by telephone, this way he would be immediately made aware of any backorder issues.
Especially if the purchase is time sensitive.

BTW, I'm another satisfied customer of Bayou LaForge… uhhh… knifeworks.
:D

I always order by phone, make sure it in stock and request it be shipped that day if possible.
I never leave loose ends with anything that I do.
Knifeworks, and BHQ are my two favorites.

Love knifeworks.com, agree that calling them dishonest is the error in this post. You are assuming they did all this with "intent." Which is seemingly impossible since you are dealing with a computerized ordering system.

Knifeworks is one of my 3 preferred dealers. I have literally spent thousands with KW and have nothing but praise for them. And on the couple of occasions where I have needed to use their CS, they have been professional and customer centric.

Great folks to do business with.

I but lots of knives from Knifeworks- as a dealer who does not buy directly from all the manufacturers when I need a cool spyderco or benchmade I go to Knifeworks and nowhere else.
I pay what you all pay - no special pricing or favors- they have not let me down.

I particularly like that they will put a name on the knife- I got a Spyderco Delica for my shooting instructor from them with his name and special number on it- made for a special gift.

Thank you OP, I will never be doing business with KW

Seriously ? It doesn't matter who you deal with online, things can and will happen. What matters is how they deal with the issues....

The number of happy customers here FAR outnumber the few that have issues. I don't care who it is, if you look hard enough, you will find someone that will complain about every company.

They just may have made a mistake. It happens. I have ordered a lot of stuff from them, and have had good luck. You are right. They have very reasonable prices. Give them another chance.

I have only made one knife purchase from Knifeworks, but the customer service was stellar and I could scarcely believe how fast my knife arrived.

Everyone can have a bad experience somewhere, but that doesn't make the company a bad company.n

Knifeworks is one of the good guys. Sounds like you hit one of the 1% that wasn't in stock. IMO, this wasn't even close to dishonest. I try to remember to always assume the best in people--especially someone with such an exemplary track record.

I'd give them another try.

Knifeworks has been outstanding in all of my dealings with them. I did have an incident once with an online firearms parts retailer that charged me for a trigger group that wasn't in stock although the web site said it was.The web site inventory wasn't geared in actual time. wtf  Had to cancell the transaction before buying it elsewhere. Now I always call first. :D

More knives for you? I didn't know they sold anything exclusive. It's not KW that bothers me it's the way some of you crap on the OP for expressing his frustration on how things worked for him. Just because you may like it doesn't mean he has to or has less of a right to express himself. Will I lose out on anything by not shipping KW? Doubt it. I usually find better prices elsewhere.

Assuming OP is correct on everything he stated - it may be an experience not to his liking. And fine - he/she is perfectly ok to express frustration or dissapointment. Now, on the other hand to call out a company accusing them of dishonest practices is another issue all together. The OP did not earn the right or have an issue to question someone's ethics. Additionally, it seems rather petty to start a post for such a situation anyway - at least in my opinion.

Actually, they sell all kinds of exclusive stuff.

^This is true.^

Many exclusive offerings listed every week.

And sure, the OP has a right to "express himself". It's just the "dishonest practices" statement that many folks, including myself, have an issue with here.
And we too have a right to express our feelings on the OP saying that...

Oh I did notice they had time to post on the forums here today...

Dubbin1,

Please PM me your order number or name so we can take a look.

Thank you

The irony.

Dubbin1, Even if you no longer feel the need to contact KnifeWorks, could you please post an update to let everyone know how/if the issue is resolved. If you do, or do not, receive a refund for example.

I'm also curious of the precise timeline. What day and time did you place the order?
