Knifeworks805 frustrating business ethics..

This is a civil matter, not necessarily a criminal matter. This is what the police departments have stated in other cases with similar circumstances.

FWIW I had a horrible experience with Ryan on Ebay. Had to go through the Ebay process to get money back.

Wouldn't qualify as mail fraud? I paid via check, and he hasn't contacted me like he said he would.. I'm not sure how I would present proof, other than the mailing receipt that I saved?

Mail fraud is a stretch, you might have to prove that he somehow used the USPS to commit fraud. Contact your bank and talk to the fraud department. Give them copies of all your contacts with him and they might be able to do something for you. I'd have done that a long time ago if I were you.

Thanks for the advice rev. You're a big help.

UPDATE: Ryan texted me around lunch time today to "let me know that he isn't stealing my knives, just has alot going on." I then requested that he send both knives back to me immediately. He then replied "Only one is done" (isn't that interesting since he said he had already shipped both of them a month ago?). To this I requested that he send the the completed one as well as a refund for the uncompleted knife. Since this statement I have gotten no response. Lets see how this plays out.

P.S.- He didn't even apologize.

yah, I found it funny that he told me that he had done my 0300 scale 3 weeks before he did my other knife, but when I got the 0300 scale back he said the scale wasn't dry because it took 4 weeks to fully cure and that he had only just sprayed it with duracoat the previous week. Needless to say I Caught him in a lie

So long story short he lied to me about when he sprayed my scale, and was trying to buy himself time by telling me both my knives were done when they weren't. And by shipping out my scale when the scale wasn't dry, he also damaged my duracoat job.

he thinks hes smart  I would still stay resilient with him and ask for both the knives to be shipped back as is, and ask for a refund for your check.

The fact that he didn't apologize shows no remorse, and he probably thinks this behavior is perfectly normal. :thumbdn: hall of shame material here

He wont, not even sure he believes he's in the wrong.
-sh00ter

That was my experience also. I bought a blade off ebay and waited for weeks to see it ship, when I emailed, he gave me a story about how the lady at the "shipping place" had not sent it yet. Not his fault of course. Then the blade got lost in the mail, when I got it, it was nothing like the photos in the listing. When I emailed asking why it looked different in his listing he said, the knife has been out of my hands for months, not sure why it looks bad now.
There was always some excuse and it was never his fault. Frustrating. I hope you get your blades back in decent shape. Keep us posted.

The worst part of all of this is he has a child... I feel bad for the kid who has to grow up with a father with such ethics.

I don't trust him at all anymore. And the idiots on Facebook are trying to defend him. I just don't appreciate it.
