Knives and Boots

A little different take on knives and boots this morning: Using our leather knives to make the cuts we needed here wasn't working. In to the rescue, a Horsewright Cowboy Toothpick:

So why were we cutting up this pair of Nocona boots? Well to make a Boot Top Purse of course.

The boot tops after Mrs Horsewright got done playing with them:

Absolutely incredible work!

Yes , Iron Rangers . I love them now but you have to
be willing to break them in .

Nice boots and knife!!!

Recently picked up a second pair of Iron Rangers. I found that getting the correct size and wide width, other than initial stiffness, the break in is completely painless. These are about the only boots I find comfortable these days due to a bone spur on my large toe. The toe box is huge!

Getting old sucks!

That is pretty unique! Must be a first for that design. John

Thanks!
Absolutely incredible work!
Thanks for the kind words!

Thanks John! She made one other with another pair of boots. Only they weren't really a pair. So she took the shaft of one and came up with this one:

So the boot top in this version became the exterior pocket not the body of the purse.

This will work out with some upcoming orders. There's two sisters that would like a purse made from a pair of their father's old boots, as he passed away some years back. With this method she can make two purses, one for each sister with the one pair of boots.
