Knives and Toilet Paper?

Planterz Planterz I don't disagree with you. But I am practical about this as well. I keep the better grade wipes available but they seldom get used because they aren't as handy. They also pick up gritty material if you use them more than once which I did. Other than prescription stuff, nothing I use is very expensive in terms of sun glasses or whatever. I do pay attention to my impression of the individual optics of these plastic lens sun glasses.... I trash as many as I keep to use and the better brands are better optically even though they are less than $50 each.

I use the fit over tops a lot (sunglasses) as I need prescription eye correction. They certainly aren't as cool as regular sunglasses and I am considering a pair of prescription ones now. I do not like contact lenses. I have tried the WM type ones and clearly they aren't as good as the Foster Grant branded ones even though there isn't much difference in cost. I won't buy them at WM any more. Most come now from Sam's Club and I have one higher grade pair with yellow polarized lens for special use (night driving if glare is a problem or low light trout fishing).

Seriously. I'm not sure why people don't have a months worth of TP on hand at any given time. I bet many will now. People will walk around with a thousand dollar phone in their pocket but can't be bothered to have $30 of TP in their dwelling? Forget about having enough food for a prolonged stay at home. And water in an emergency? Nope.

I have ulcerative colitis, I hoarded the stuff long before this stupid panic started. I'm looking in my spare room I've turn into a pantry and see 10 12 packs of angel soft. I aint bought any TP in 2 months. The idiots aint laughing at my fully stocked 12x12 pantry now.

2X post. But to CHNeal, nice pic! I LOVE a Sebenza but it's outside my range.
ps. What's for supper?
I’ll be honest the Sebenza is outside my price range as well! I splurged after a BUNCH of OT at work. As for dinner last night it was a very nice garlic and parm crusted pork loin roast and if the butts I’m smoking right now ever get done it will be pulled pork tonight.

Hope your having better luck than me. It's raining here and playing hell with the smoker. I'm about to open the shop and back the blasted thing up in there.
I saw the same in our forecast so I just setup under my covered lean to beside my garage.

A recycled pic because I’m getting low

Hello my Blade friends, Ive been to many very remote cabins in the woods with outhouses. By far one of the most ingenuous things Ive seen is the use of a ordinary pressurized pump sprayer. I wont go into great detail, but think of a bidet. Keep it next to a toilet, fill it full of water and pump it full of your desired pressure. Warm water can make the experience even better and I would imagine you could even place the sprayer on a heater vent to keep it warm.:)
You may never go back to regular TP again! :D

Just had a guy at work move from Thailand and he said many people there use this...

He said his kids hate toilet paper and are having a hard time adjusting to it. It really makes you stop and think about how you are accustom to doing things in only a certain way, but there are many ways to skin a cat...

Last but not least there is always the tennis ball thrower wipe idea....this is my personal favorite idea, but I have neighbors I dont care for...:p

You know why everyone is in drastic need of TP? Cause whenever someone coughs everyone close to them poops their pants....

...In the end (heh) it comes down to what you're wiping clean. If it's an old pair of Smiths or Bolles or something of the like, it might not matter to you much. If it's some Foster Grants or Walgreens reading glasses, who cares? If it's your new pair of Flexon framed CR-39 Transition lenses with blue light filter and AR coating, or your new Maui Jims or Randolph Aviators, then stay away from paper towels and resist the urge to use your t-shirt, and carry a microfiber cloth.

You are pretty close to what I wear. Nike Flexon titanium frames with Trivex lenses and blue light blocking AR for indoors. Outdoors is basically the same with the addition of photochromics. SunSync or Transitions, normally used for that.

As an optician, I hate it when people reach for paper towels to clean their eyewear. Drives me nuts.

You would be surprised how many people will use the microfiber cloth they get with their eyewear just a few times and then throw it away when it gets a little dirty.

As for TP, we have enough to last over a month. Maybe two months if I break into the camping gear.
Paper towels are another story.

I was checking on a sister of mine earlier today and she was telling me how our parents used newsprint when they cooked bacon. Must have been before I was even around because I have no memory of that.

A couple of newsprint adds that you get in the mail under one square from a role of paper towels should work nicely for bacon in the morning.

I bet. And then they complain when their new glasses get scratched and blame you, right?

Nothing particularly wrong with that, although they can be washed. But again, as I'm sure you well know, a box of 100 can be had for quite cheap. Cheap enough that they can be considered disposable, but I'm sure lots of people use paper towels or their shirt rather than getting more microfibers. Although I have a bunch of cheaper microfiber cloths, my favorite are thick Serengeti branded ones.

I don't wear glasses, but I own some pretty nice sunglasses. Quite a few in fact, several different varieties of Serengetis (some with back-ups because they're all discontinued) and a few Maui Jims. Some are "beaters", some are flawless. I live in Tucson, and although I turn 40 in 2 weeks, I still have better than 20/20 vision, so I take protecting my eyes pretty seriously. I don't have any Ray Bans or Costa Del Mar or other high-end sunglasses lauded for their clarity, so my experience isn't comprehensive, but so far, IMO, nothing is clearer than non-polarized glass Serengetis. Even my Maui Jims (which are also glass) aren't as wonderfully clear as my Serengetis.

If/when I need proper glasses, I have plenty of nice frames I can use (the titanium frame Maui Jim Kilohanas I have are fantastic) to use.

Off topic (but oh well, this entire thread is off-topic, including the OP), but do you have an opinion on Fuse replacement lenses? I got a couple sets of polarized replacement lenses from sunglassfix.com, and while they're very optically clear (I believe they're CR-39, but could be Trivex) they don't have anti-reflective coating (not offered by them), and there's substantial reflection that's horribly distracting. I'll probably send them back, as they have very long no-questions-asked return policy. My favorite frames are the Maui Jim 552 Kilohanas, but they were only ever offered in their HCL Bronze and Maui Rose tints. I'd love to have one pair with neutral gray or possibly G-15.
