Wow!!!!!
Great shot of a great knife........................ I'm so lucky!!!!!!!!

Haley's bowie was a terrific piece - and my favourite amongst her excellent test knives. Congrats on a very fine addition.

Adam DesRosiers, MS is a hero in the World of Forged Blades. Let's understand why.

I want you to SLOWLY look over each piece. Like I did. Like the judging panel did.

It doesn't get better.

I'll be back later tonight....

terrific images Coop Love the Derosiers knives. Guess I was too late to their table to see them though. Maybe in the future I'll find something available.

Buddy, nice job on the Rybar. So much going on with that knife I wouldn't know where to start.

Everyone here knows I worship at the alter of Hanson. I walked up to Don's table as the deal for the blue fighter was concluding (Nooooooo!!!! Come baaaaaack!!!!!). I didn't see the green crackle knife and it's probably a good thing. I would've been arrested as I'd just have to grab and run with that one if another possessed it right in front of my very eyes. WOW on both  Real flagships to any collection.

The DesRosiers knives are wonderful. As people, they are so very down to earth and their story seems almost fairytale in how wonderful it is. I had brief interactions with both Adam and Haley, along with seeing their reactions at the ABS banquet when they received their honors. A most humble and sincere couple with fantastic skills. (Haley, I still wonder what you were drinking in that really cool chalice at your table. It looked quite "healthy" and there I was offering you M&M's during the show :o ).

Finally I can see some real details. That dagger Adam build is really cool, with a handle treatment I think I have never seen before!! Great job.

Marcel

sign me up Desrosiers.

I think Adam's dagger is my favourite MS test dagger I've seen. It's so refined but with a mediaeval quality... Boy it's nice.

Jim, The "surprise" was worth waiting for! The photos are wonderful! I'm shocked at how great the whole set came out. I know that must be one of the hardest things to shoot (except for a Rybar). It was really a pleasure to work with you this year, and a privelige to get a chance to watch you work. I could tell that the pressure was mounting for you as the show progressed, and I'm afraid that we didn't help with that! Thank you for being so accommodating. I was really glad when Buddy finally showed up after his nightmare flight delays. He does have a soothing presence doesn't he?
Congratulations on the award as well. Most deserved. Without your hard work the world may never get to really see our work.
BLADE show this year is one we will never forget. As usual, there were not enough hours in the day to visit with old friends and new...

Adam-

Coop,

It was great to meet you for a few seconds. Your photos are amazing. Thank you for helping us choose a knife to photo. Congrats on the much deserved award. It was a great show for us.

I think Adam's dagger is my favourite MS test dagger... so refined but with a mediaeval quality...
Stuart - I agree. I got to spend ample time examining it before Coop shot it. Adam managed to put a ton of "soul" into it - a quality that's hard to describe but "you know it when you see it."

A big thankyou to Jim and Susan for working us in like you did, it was great to finally meet you two in person, you guys are the 'dream team'!

(Haley, I still wonder what you were drinking in that really cool chalice at your table. It looked quite "healthy" and there I was offering you M&M's during the show :o ).

That is a gaucho tea tradition we picked up from our friend Rodrigo in Brazil, the cup is made from a hollow guord on a stand and you pack Herva Mate tea into one side, fill with hot water and sip through a metal straw that has a sieve on the bottom. It is quite healthy and a bit of an aquired taste...unlike M&Ms which we love instantly! It takes all the manners my mom taught me not to put a serious hurtin' on the bowl of chocolate kisses the Ruth boys keep on their table RIGHT NEXT TO OURS!

Coop, don't know which of Jerry Hossom's blades you got, but the two that really speak to me are these:

While so many of these blades are magnificent, the ones that really hook me are the ones that I can really see as a knife I want in my hand - using as it was meant to be.

Hi friends,

A humble thanks. The knife I have (coming back to me now. Paul, you are efficient!), is none of these. But the ivory Micarta®/red liner combo is a consistent player in my collection.

Jerry's knives have exceptional handles.

Adam ........

All 5 of the knives you submitted for your ABS rating are superb. It was like you coming up to bat 5 times in one game and hitting a home run, each and every time at bat, with your incredible dagger representing a "grand slam". Beautiful designs, spectacular forged Damascus, and absolutely flawless execution. You are a brilliant and gifted bladesmith. Congratulations to you and Haley on attaining your MS! Incidentally, in my opinion, Haley doesn't take a back seat to anyone!

Speaking of Adam and Haley, here's a shot I missed adding, of the pair of winners:

Bob Dozier: A simple folder, but this steel is captivating!

Scot Matsuoka from Hawaii has a distinct pleasing style.

And another of our finest friends from Hawaii, who happens to be a client, Keith Ouye. Keith and Amelia never fail to show up at Blade with a t-shirt for our son Trevor. Since we've returned he's worn it four days (with washings). The Aloha Spirit is welcome.

Jody and Ginger Muller have such a gentle demeanor. His folders? Not so much...

Lastly, the elegance if Matthew Lerch's folders is evident right here. I used one of his folders to grace my poster for Blade on the first post.
