Knives that you are surprised are not as popular as they should be

The William Henry /Tom Brown Quest survival knife is a great tool. It is based on the B-15 model, but unfortunately has been discountinued. The hollowing out of the Titanium scales brought the weight down to 56 Grams. The laminated 3 1/8" ZDP-189 blade cuts like buzzsaw. The push button release allows the blade to flip flipped open and shut. An added pocket clip allows for a placket carry.

Weird, I was totally going to mention the Kulgera myself. Looks like it's gaining some popularity, eh? Anyway, yeah, I definitely love mine.

I just bought a Kershaw "Needs Work" that I haven't heard a lot about so far, despite it being a terrific value. I think it's probably because it has a Wharnecliff blade that's only 3" and it seems like that's not the most popular blade style and a little on the short side for most.

I'm with ya. I think the "Needs Work" is a great value and very under appreciated. I have the old version, and think that the G-10 grip makes it an even better knife value.

I also think that the Boker Wharcom is under appreciated. A very functional little knife at a good price.

Mcusta comes to mind.

I'd have to Mcusta knives in general

+1 on Mcusta.
Also Spyderco Volpe. Italian made framelock with 3.5" FFG blade, SS handle with olive wood inserts. Priced around $100, but can be found for less. Absolutely gorgeous

Well snap, that's a nice looking Spydie.

Cold Steel knives don't seem to get a ton of love around here. They are discussed to some degree on BF, but not that much it seems.

I have been a knife addict for quite some time, but CS was never on my radar until the last couple of weeks. I grabbed a Recon 1 (2010), and it has been in my pocket ever since. After sanding down the G10 under the clip, that is. I now have a Lawman and mini-Lawman on order.

They are very rugged, moderately priced knives that I think a lot of folks are not aware of. At least thats my perception.

The Kershaw Needs Work is, as its name implies, a great work knife. It is not expensive and very durable. It probably suffers a little because it is not as "tactical looking" as some other similar sized knives. The straight edge is very easy to sharpen and it can take very heavy use. I like mine. It is somewhat heavy and bulky in the pocket if carried in the pocket.

+2

For under $100 you can have the Falcon Ultralight...over 3" blade with a total weight of  1.25 ounces!! Handsome thing too.

I too am a fan of any of the Al Mar folders, especially the micarta and jigged bone handled hawks, falcons, eagles. I think I need to try one of these out. Your photo looks so much better than the stock photos I've seen.

Kershaw NRG. Great blade shape, the Williams flipper is neat, and it is very comfortable.
Priced around $30.

There's many more of us right behind you on CS man. They're overhauling their stuff and putting out some really nice (their old stuff was good too) new blades.

BTW, I just lifted your sig line image to Photoshop for use in my personal emails when forwarding political jokes - too funny :D

Leatherman's Expanse series.

E33L - flipper design, fast open, excellent lockup, good ergos, 154CM blade steel, USA Made, 25 year warranty, can be found for under $30 online. The E55L (3.1 vs. 2.6 inch blade) can be found for under $40 with 154CM steel.

i went ahead and ordered one of these. i also ordered the larger lockback version. they look like excellent knives. thanks for letting us know.

Cold Steel Pocket Bushman. I dare you to name a better knife for $22.00US (bought one NIB today, so, yes that price is accurate).:D

H&K (BM) 14205 is a great knife: smooth, stout, grippy handles, and efficient edge geometry.

David Wesner is a great custom maker. He made a bowie for me, and it's the centrepiece of my collection. He also did a sweet little Loveless-style drop point hunter for my wife. His designs are bang on, and his fit and finish are flawless.

What about Randall Made Knives? They are booked five years in advance, but I haven't seen anyone discuss them on the main forums.

Cool. Lemme know what you think of it - like other people in this thread that have a Leatherman knife, I tend to use mine for the jobs I wouldn't subject my other folders to.
