$30 isn't a lot but wouldn't the knife now be considered used since jeep stropped it? Seller says he sent NIB knife. So not only did he lose $30 the knife lost value correct? Sorry to see you have to go through this kya. I wish you the best.

Now that Kya has the knife back (true it is now "used"), can jeepdud be banned now?
 
So Rick assessed the knife and cited it's dullness as evidence of it's use, and the op admitted to stropping until it was shaving sharp. There is definitely a contridiction and problem here. I feel bad for Kya, he's the one who truly lost in this deal. I hope all of the posters who were calling for blood are now satisfied. It's pathetic!

Besides stropping the edge, what else did Jeep do to the knife before sending it in?

Something I am sure a lot of knife nuts know on there....if you don't know how to strop a knife (wrong angle, to much pressure, etc.), you are going to dull the edge. I think OP (buyer) is a horrible person to deal with.

Maybe I missed it....but does anyone know if he planned on using the knife, or was going to stick it in a safe? If he was going to use it, who cares if there are small insignificant rub marks on the steel (the defects he mentioned were bs). I keep many knives in my safe and the shelves have a very soft, faux leather lining. Hell....sometimes if I put a mint knife on them and the knife is super polished, you are going to see microscopic lines....but the knife is still mint from the maker.
 
Well that is a disgraceful performance from Jeepdud. His perfomance is worthy of a spoilt brat who never got what he wanted and now desperately needs a good kick up the ar$e to help him get straightened out.

We don't need him around here.
 
i came back here to tell of the events regarding the process of the knife sale, i see JKA is making claims against me, thats ok, stropping? in any event, the knife went to the manufacturer, he verified my observations, these observations were sent to Pay Pal, they made an easy decision. i did not read the remaining posts since JKA weaves such a good yarn but the knife came back to him in the condition it came to me in. as witnessed by the manufacturer. it was noted that the blade had been dulled through use, the blade and ti had scratches, and there is a knick on the upper left hand portion of the spanto, it is felt that the knife had been dropped. as far as stropping, that would only serve to sharpen the blade.he had all of you demanding that i drop the dispute, any one of you familiar with pay pal knows that dropping a dispute is the same as telling them all issues are resolved and he would get his money and than it would take an act of god to recover my money. i conducted my activity by the sellers rules of this forum and of Pay Pal, plus i had to deal with JKA and his deceit, he told the forum 1 thing, his desire to refund my money, and me NO RETURNS take it up with hinderer, and plaza cutlery, so i had to take the simple measures i did to protect my interests, i ask any of you, if you purchase an NIB knife for an investment, and it comes used, where is the investment. i started this thread to make sure none of you buy this knife, it back fired on me, big deal, in the end justice was served. so, if i am unwanted here, well thats life and it will go on
 
a final note, i did scan this last page, someone said that JKA had lost 30 dollars i am guessing he is referring to postage, he lies every chance he gets, I sent additional monies to pay for expedited shipping, i paid for the trips it made to hinderer, and to go back to hawaii, i am amazed how well he tells stories and how easily you guys bite. so this is now a forgotten ordeal unless you guys want to continue to rant, i do not understand why the thread was not shut down a long time ago, you spoke of negative exposure, so i asked JKA to go to the emails, yet he continued soliciting your sympathy, and refused to email me for 4 days. well thats it for me. bye all

Jeepdud, the issue is that you didn't return it to the seller. I've been in the position you were in. The knife should have been returned and then you could have posted here. You would have gotten a lot more sympathy that way. Also, never sharpen or strop a knife until you have decide that you want to keep it.
