Actually, being a US citizen living in Canada, I don't have any firearms around. I know that it's possible to have loaded guns in a house with children, but you have to spend more money to keep them safe from the kids while available for use, and we frankly don't have it to spend on the unlikely scenario of a bear trying to break into the house. I've got a decent Mossberg back in Florida, but I'm not going to complicate my immigration paperwork by having some Canadian Immigration agent asking me why I need a gun around.

Any idea where I can pick up an M-14??? Loved that little rifle. Shot expert with it. I got out before M-16s got issued. Of course the Corps was always the last to get the new tecnology :(

No idea on the M14. Look around, I know their available. You might want to ask on that other forum. Mark and Bill (two door) are generally good resources for that sort of thing.
