Let's Congress

My first congress knife. Thinner than expected and it fits in my watchpocket. Luvvin' it!

My first just came in the mail today, need to hit the stones with it but I can already see myself loving this knife.

Nothing like a good congress and that's a real looker, Des! Congrats!

Who is the maker? Ain't nothing to not like about that one!!

That'd be a Queen City, 1095 steel, half stops, really like the jigging it has a nice bumpy texture

Here's a Primble that I picked up from Duncan and it's tiny Rodgers ancestor. Have a great weekend folks.

Best regards

Robin

Time to bump this fine thread back to the top....

One of my favorite acrylics is this GEC half-congress in synthetic tortoise shell.

Agreed, Jeff. I tend to run hot/cold on acrylics but the GEC tortoise shell looks great, and quite classy on this pattern.

The #61 Half Congress that I own continues to grow on me, and I've got a new-found love for the pattern. It was one of the first GEC's I purchased, but it kind of languished on the shelf as other, more popular patterns caught my focus. Now, I'm back to this #61 and loving it - it's my preferred length/size, and the sheepsfoot/pen combo is always useful. I have a Maverick on the way now, and I think it's going to get lots of pocket time...

I completely agree. This was my second GEC and is by far my most carried pocket knife since it's arrival. I have posted photos of it so many times, I'm sure most people here in the traditional forum would associate me with this:

A very underrated pattern :)

Nice examples PMEW and Smithhammer, I really like the rat tailed bolsters and bone on the Primble Robin. I just got the 62 with round bolsters which may not be as popular as the squared but I am loving this one and it feels very solid.

The raisin jig with the propellor shield looks fantastic :)

Yeah, I don't mind the rounded bolsters on that combo at all. That's a great looking Half Congress, Dave!

I still think there will be a HC with a wharnie/coping in my future at some point. I hope GEC does another run of these...

I keep holding out that GEC will offer a Congress Jack similar to the 2013 Bladeforum knife.
