Lets hear it for the ASHBM!!

I like them with choil, but all are beautiful.

Very beautiful blade. To me they just don't look right without the choil and from a use standpoint I prefer the choil.

I miss mine A LOT. I wish I hadn't had to sell it, and I hope I can get my hands back on it if the buyer ever decides to get rid of it.

I've NEVER seen INFI patina like this... used it to carve a 20lb Christmas ham and it got colorful!

Blood is very corrosive so it makes sense that you would get a patina. Just as a side note, blood is about as salty as salt water, so corrosion is an issue.

That fellas, is about fifteen minutes after the isopropyl alcohol step. Very clean. No grind marks to speak of. No logo etching either.

That's good to know. I intend to strip mine after I've used it for awhile and the coating begins to wear off.

Just grabbed a 1/300 off the exchange. That swedge really changes the feel of the knife. It's amazing! I love the ASHBM!

So does the drop down/rear talon hole beat the hell out of your pinky when chopping. I'm very close to pulling the trigger on one of these, the NMFBM just looks a little more comfy.

That's a tough call. Handle fit is a personal thing. The ASHBM handle has been altered and improved relative to the SHBM, specifically to reduce pinky bite. The Fusion handle might be more comfy, but the NMFBM is a heavy chopping beast, while the ASHBM has a better all around feel in use.

The inside length is longer. Not sure what else was done, but Garth had commented in a thread back around the time of the introduction of the ASHBM that they had reworked and tested the improved handle profile.

Interesting.. I will compare when I get my ASHBM
