Let's see your good old basic fixed blades, Bowie's, Stickers, etc.

I had to have this Western L36. Like my Boy Scout knife but better.

Hello...I am Leonard Corlee and was suprised to see one of my early knives posted. I thank you for it.
If you would like any other information, I would be glad to talk with you.

Oh, wow! Well, sir, you aren't nearly as surprised (and pleased) as I am. I would enjoy talking to you and will try to contact you via private message on BladeForums. Thank you for reaching out to me.

L Leonard Corlee Mr. Corlee, I was unable to send a message to you, so I'm hoping that our fellow members will indulge me a bit so I can ask a little about the knife that you made and I now cherish. If we stray too far off topic for this thread, maybe a moderator can move us to a better spot or suggest one. I guess some of the folks on this thread would like to hear your views on fixed blades. I know that you have made fighting knives, as well as hunters - there is a handsome hunter that you made pictured on page 130 of Ken Warner's "Knives '81", as well as a few more scattered over the internet (I know - I looked).

My stepfather, Dr. Rod L. Lancaster, DVM, passed in 2012 in Morehead City, NC, where I was raised. I inherited his knife collection, one of which is the drop point hunter made by you. I, also, received fixed blade hunters by Joe Cordova, John Ek, Mick Langley, Ed Love, and a few others, but yours is the one that I prefer to use in the field. It is built like a Cape buffalo, but is as agile as a mountain goat. I would like to know more about this knife, if you remember it among the many that you made (if not, that's OK, too). I don't have a box/papers/sheath, just the knife, so I don't know the steel, the handle material, or its approximate "birthday". All I know is that it feels good in hand while at work. The pictures do not do justice to the knife, but I re-posted them. It is in almost new condition - I've dressed a couple of deer with it and it is still sharp. I keep it clean. Overall length is 8", blade length is 3 9/16", I think.

I’d like to know more also Stuart, I think this is a good spot to share the info since we’re discussing the knife. That’s a fine hunter, I love the wood grain!

For future reference, you can post on a members profile page even if they don't have Conversation privileges. It can be read by anyone since it isn't private like Conversations are, so remember that when it comes to posting personal information. That said, I don't think it's too out of place here and I'd be interested in learning some more about that beauty also.

Well, maybe Mr. Corlee will rejoin us later and we can find out more about the knife. I tracked down a telephone number that I thought might be correct and left a voice message. I'm just glad that he is still around.
