Let's see your good old basic fixed blades, Bowie's, Stickers, etc.

View attachment 1300705 Here is my latest fixed blade.
A blue swiss card light was my first Vic, had it in my wallet for years as a teenager and it eventually broke on me from all that time sitting in those hard school chairs.
I've often wondered if these are technically legal here in California as they are technically a concealed fixed blade.

I understand that you guys are allowed 2” switchblades, so a 2” fixed blade wouldn’t be a big yank.

But the length doesn't come into play with fixed blades, any length you want carried openly, but none can be concealed whatsoever.

I've often wondered the same here

Very cool knife.
I've got a knife I quite love which I made from a GI cooks knife my dad used in the ARMY.
Today I wish I had it in its stock form, but I only repurposed it in the first place because the tip was snapped off when I got it.

Thank you :) It's quite a few years now since Duane gifted it to me. I find it pretty useful

Be great to see your knife sometime, it certainly sounds special

Damn that's exactly what mine looked like ( minus an inch or so from the tip ).
I just know it would have been a beast in the kitchen.

Is the tang on yours centered ?, I know mine is a little bit off center.
It looks centered to me.

I posted this after I bought it a few years ago, and it was you who told me it's a military cook's knife. I searched something like "GI chef knife" on the bay and found a couple. One Utica, one unknown to me in Ohio, I think. Mine's unmarked.
I figure this is as close as I need to get to a Mediterranean -inspired Bowie.

Ok, I remember that now.
I've been told they were usually a bit cruder than standard production to keep cost and production time down because they knew abuse and misuse would often occur.
I guess that's why mine had a broken tip.

Mine has a slightly off center tang , but it dosen't hurt anything.

Wow! I really like all of those

Carrying this one today, a gift from an old forum member :)

I like this a lot, looks very handy for any situation. The swedge gives it character, can you tell what you have done with it lately?
