My biggest real gaucho knife: 8.25" blade. Made for a mechanical engineer on a sugar plantation in Brasil by a gaucho working the associated cattle ranch, ca 1960.

This Russell GR is not far off from the JuCa, I've noticed. I made walnut pocket/drawer sheathes for some of these for Christmas long ago, but I seem not to have kept any sheathes for myself.

Speaking of handles, the hard part for me is summoning the will to undergo the drudgery of sawing the slabs.
