Let's see your good old basic fixed blades, Bowie's, Stickers, etc.

I'm amazed at the knives posted in this thread. Here's my basic assortment.

Here's one I just finished up with a couple hours of free time over the weekend. Scruffuk sent me the blade, it's a Polar 95. Handle is some dark, hard wood I had... maybe walnut? Locust? I'm not sure. Still have to make a sheath, but here it is.

here is my first Polar (65mm blade) wit very non traditional sheath

do you have to redo the heat treat on the blades?
Yep. The prominent working traditional knife is not a robust, stout, knife but rather a thin, sharp, knife.

You take an old band sawmill blade and make a butcher knife out of it. You can cut anything with it :

beautiful
A couple I just got. Father and son....

Jim Behring Jr. made the upper one.

Jim Behring Sr. made the lower one.

Both came with outstanding Mosher sheaths, and the Jr. knife also came with a really nice Mudbone sheath.

Just as much of a joy to hold as they are to behold!

Thanks for looking and letting me share....

modified the tip of this Schrade into a semi-skinner someway...works better for me

I reshaped the tip somewhat, and reshaped the handle, then added osage scales to this Russell sheep skinner. works great

Deltablade, nice work on the Russell. Looks like a Canadian belt knife now, like a Grohmann's. :)

Here's a Marbles that I've had for a few years now.

how did you polish the Ross blade?
The top knife is a Weck and Mueller trade knife I got for a dollar. The blade cleaned well but the handle is pretty rough. Still it is a true classic and well within my budget.
The bottom one is a Turk Bayonet.

This is the before photo for my Ross rifle bayonet. Notice the blade is shaped a lot like the trade knife.

My other Ross has the blade altered like they were in WW1 when they decided a bayonet should be pointy.

This is the after photo of my Ross.

The bayonet mount was toast so a chopped it and cleaned it up. The blade is very very sharp and hollow ground and very good steel especially for a 100 year old knife.

This case holds a GEC scout and can be attached to the Ross sheath.

This 100 year old knife gets a lot of use now that it has been brought back from the dead. It took a ridiculous amount of work but was worth it.

This is my custom camp knife. It stuck in here with one swipe. The blade is 1095 ,the guard wrought iron and the handle maple burl.
