Let's see your good old basic fixed blades, Bowie's, Stickers, etc.

Beautiful knife Paul, I am still learning but it seems the puukko is loved by the Laplanders for it's comfortable handle and short stout skinning blade and that handle looks extremely comfortable with a VERY stout blade and belly.

Dave & Jerry, thanks guy's, I actually own three Skinner's from Jarret. Your right Jerry, his skills are amazing and the fact he's as young as he is boggles my mind.

To think that he'll get even better with time is hard to phathom.

1) I think you will enjoy the GEC H20 very much. Mine is Lansky'd to an obscenely low edge angle and I have been using it as a paring knife since they came out. I also have the sheath and I put on a SS bail through the lanyard hole. I just love this little knife; it makes me want to go traipsing in the woods and whittle a stick for no reason at all.

2) That Bernard is a beaut! I never knew they were so small...really really stunning shape. I wish I had the cheddar for the mammoth versions.

Nice snags!

Thanks. I love how non-intimidating it is, in cost and presentation. No qualms about using this one! I'm looking forward to putting it through its paces.

Mine is from Bernard's Bush Baby Series, tiny knives all. Bernard does make a line up of regular-sized knives, too, but I wanted a wee one. The size is a large part of its appeal to me, in addition to its lines, but the other knives look grand. The giraffe bone suits me well-- hint o' blue, and all. :)

(The coin didn't come with the knife, but I love how the company presents itself so snagged the picture from their site.)

Here is one of the recent ones.

It is a German knife from Solingen made by Koller

And that is how it looked when I have received it about a month ago:

Could not leave it that way: with rust and scars from grinder on the blade and that nut that did not even fit the metric screw on the handle. Tried to remove as little original material as possible though.

Here is another picture:

Jason Knight makes a really nice knife. Thanks for showing it.

I made this one from a file. This is my go to carry every day

And this was a Christmas present from my uncle. '89 Buck 102 that he got at a yard sale for $2

The Tracker is a modern pattern, but we'll let it pass for today.

Nice. Did you have trouble fitting the brass? I have a Lauri in a box somewhere that has the grinds continuing up the tang. I figure I'll have to file the bevels further back or have little gaps.

Your thoughts are exactly right. I have little gaps on mine; doesn't affect how the knife uses. I didn't have a small file, or I would have fit it better.

plk7 recently asked if he could send me a little something, which a recent mail call revealed to be this delectably sturdy little beauty, a BRKT Mini Canadian-- with other thoughtful gifts, to boot!

Flipped to show the handle grooves catching the remaining light:

I neglected to take a spine shot, but this small knife has some substance to it, weight and solidity. Although only slightly longer than the Arno Bernard giraffe bone stinger I recently posted, it is much more of a begs-for-work handful.

I love (love, love) the proportion of handle to blade:

With another recent fixed-blade gift, a Ken Richardson drop point bowie:

Thanks so much, plk7. This blade makes me smile, big time. :)
