Let's see your good old basic fixed blades, Bowie's, Stickers, etc.

I just took this pic of my newest, a Straight Hunter from Big Chris Berry here on the forums.
.102" CPM-S90V @ 61 and .009" above the bevel, a wicked thin-edged slicer. G10 handle covers.

Cold Steel Naval Dirk
This Cold Steel interpretation of the classic shipboard weapon features a 16 1/2", double edged, 1055 Carbon steel blade with a wide fuller and a thick spine for strength. To protect one's fingers and to serve as an aid in parrying, it has a solid brass cross guard. The traditionally styled polished black horn grip is ornamented with a brass pommel and matching spacers. Handsomely crafted and ready for battle, the Cold Steel Naval Dirk comes complete with a wood lined leather scabbard. The scabbard includes a decorative brass throat and chape as well as a brass carrying ring.

Nice job breathing some life into that old stacked-handle knife, Poez! Do you know who the maker was? I didn't see any identifying marks in the pics.

JB - what are the dimensions on that Fleming? It looks like a sweet little EDC.

Thanks, it's about 7" overall. Nice balance, great grinds and edge geometry.

Jack, I have that Naval Dirk displayed on an oak board, mounted to the wall by my front door. It's pretty handy ... you know, in case I lock myself in or something ;)

just came in yesterday! Sweetness.

M390 Steel, a perfect size and feel. This WILL be a skinning machine!

Exactly Jack LoL
And it kinda goes with the Marlow White ceremonial Cutlass I was presented with by the Chief's mess upon my retirement from Naval service

My Puma White Hunter my Dad gave me. He got it in Germany in the 60's

Now I get it! I've always looked at the hole in the handle of these knives, and thought "that's an odd place for a lanyard tube..."
But, seeing it next to the sheath in your photo, I now understand that it's a system designed to hold the knife in its sheath! Am I understanding it correctly, that the leather thong loop is threaded through the hole, and then looped back over the butt of the handle?
