Let's see your good old basic fixed blades, Bowie's, Stickers, etc.

This was given to me by my parents many years ago when I started my career here in Texas. I've modified it a little to suit my likes, I've been carrying it everyday since. There's nicer knives, but this one holds sentimental value.

Very nice, 556. I love a Ka-Bar, especially one that's taken on some character from its owner.

My 84 year old father gave me this knife that he says he can't remember where he got it, but that he's had it as long as he remembers. He thought that his father was issued it in WWII. I did a bit of reading, and understand that Utica had a bunch of bayonets in stock after the war, and made these knives out of them under the Kutmaster name and sold them on the civilian market.

It looks like carbon steel with some kind of plating, though that could just be the pattern of patina. I don't know anything else about it, really. Were these ever issued to GIs or available for sale in a PX? My dad swears it isn't the kind of thing Grandpa would have bought for him.

It seems plausible. There were literally tons of surplus gear sold and probably rebranded for sale to the civilian market. The way the U.S. finally ramped up war production left a lot of manufacturers holding large inventories after VJ Day.

Great posting. Since I am more into fixed blades these days, here are a couple new additions plus an old standby.

Scagel Large Hunter

Rosarms Reef knife

Cold Steel Bush Ranger and my EDC most days

Here are some latest photos:

On Marbles and PAL I've only done some minor fixes for bent guards, loose pommels and removing grinding scars from blades.

Great knives guys!

Here is set I picked up at a garage sale. The previous owner kept them all hair-shaving sharp.
