Let's see your good old basic fixed blades, Bowie's, Stickers, etc.

Just snapped a pic of this for another thread, Polar 95.

It most certainly does! (Do you know what it is?) I remember seeing these occasionally when growing up in rural North Carolina. The one in your pic is in really good shape - normally the belly on these is worn down quite a bit.

It's a sugar beet knife.

I think this is one of the most awesome Threads. Fixed Blades still run strong in my veins - even though I have transitioned from Bowies to Slippies.

Made a fire in the woods at school friday, sort of a kickback before winter break and my departure from college. Mora did all the work.

Your handle there reminds me of my Edge Brand/ Solingen /Germany freshman orientation knife from 1975 or a little earlier.

Is that a Ruana?
Looks good, and extra cool due to its heirloom status.

The tang has Solingen Germany on it but cannot make out the third line the opposite side of the tang is marked with a 50 and on the blade it says Buffalo Skinner.

Sorry for the late post. I only discovered their purpose about it a couple of days ago. It looks like somebody already said it was for sugar beets. I was suprised that they're still producing them.
