Let's see your Scout/Camp knives

This isn't actually my knife, but I wanted to share the story of how it came into my possession. About a week ago I made a post regarding the less commonly seen Girl Scout knives. A few days after I was contacted by a very generous man named John A. Larsen. He mentioned that he had a scout knife that he wanted to gift to a young lady.

It was waiting in the mailbox when I got home. She's a purdy one, and trim for a scout knife. She's significantly lighter than my camp/utility knife, a WWII-era Camillus Engineer's pocketknife. I took a quick pic, but it didn't turn out that great under artificial light. I'll take some better ones when I get the chance.

Thanks again John!

Nice girl scout knife!! Is that an Ulster?

I've been meaning to pick up one of the 2012 Colonial anniversary knives, but just haven't had the time and spare cash. They look nice though, with the wood scales.

Been awhile since I visited this thread, absolutely stunning examples have been posted lately.

Gev, I was really happy to see your post on the Crucible, I found one a few years ago and always questioned whether it was a fake or not, seeing yours I am pretty sure it is legit, it also has deep craggy bone.
From what I can find on Crucible which is not much there is varying opinions if they made their knives or had someone else make them with their stamp, as you stated they were only in business for a few years. The knives do appear to be well made.

A real looker, Augie ! Great bone too!! I see a few subtle differences such as the bail and the shield which makes one curious if they contracted their knives. I really am interested in any history of Crucible you or others can provide. A fine old knife indeed. Thanks for the look ! Great photographs as always

Does not get any finer than an Ulster Knife Co !!! Your daughter is styling ! Very well done Larsen indeed :thumbsup: Love that bone

Superb looking example Charlie, that is one I have been trying to find a cat number for. Especially with that type can opener. Used my example as my avatar.

I can't find one either, Russell. I have that same can opener on a 3-blade utility, and a much larger version, on a big Rope knife - all without shields! It's definitely a low-cost can opener. Maybe it was a PX special or something of that order??
I must ask ibdennis!!

Thank you, and thanks to Mr. Gev for appreciating that peach!!

Very nice knife!!!! Love that jigging. I'm not a huge fan of that style of can opener for the purpose of opening cans, but it does make an excellent box opener for zipping through packing tape.

As a can opener, it scares the heck out of me, Buzz!!
I checked for blood, but it seems it hasn't bitten anyone yet!!

Wow. Beautiful collection!!!

You have some great vintage bone there. I love the Yellow Delrin Case/Camillus too. I’ve been hunting one of those for a while now.
