Let's see your Scout/Camp knives

Not that I would have actually used this as an EDC camping knife, but it sure seemed purdy at the time:

Nice one!

Out of curiosity, has anyone tried to show examples in chronological order? Considering the long production life, it would be interesting to look at the development of scout pattern over time.

Jackknives for sailors with a main sheep's foot and small pen had been around for generations before B.S.A. ordered this knife from NYKC. It was not popular with Scouts.

B.S.A. also ordered one with a spear main blade. That would not have been favored for sailors - too stabby.

When did the longer screwdiver/caplifter start to get longer? I have often wondered when (and why) this occurred, as most versions later used by the military seem to have the longer screwdriver.

Here's a good but not great shape 10th mountain division knife. I had one before and sold it, something I have regretted. Found this one and although stored (or forgotten) poorly the blades are near full, she's solid with no play, BEAUTIFUL green bone with zero issues.
Glad to have it and may carry from time to time:thumbsup:
