Lets talk GEC!

I'm looking forward to the finished Chestnut ones as well! with the right finish, I believe they could even look nicer than the stag ones!

does anyone have the Mako in hand yet? I was interested in how it fits, I read elsewhere that the 'fin' at the end could chafe a bit in a larger hand with use.

I'm sorry if I missed it, but I know the blue camel bones are an SFO: are any of the synthetics or the GEC models SFOs?

If you use it for chopping or as a hammer, it will definitely chaff your hand. When used normally to clean fish or cut fruit I don't think the 'fin' is an issue.

When the drawings came out on this pattern, I wasn't overly impressed and so didn't order a large number of the Makos. (Dealers have to order months in advance of actual production.) But now that I have them in hand, I am very pleased with the way they came out. They are beautifully made, with the blades opening easily and closing dead center in the blade well. My personal favorite is the Burnt Orange Jig Bone GEC in 440C, but I haven't received the elk models yet, so that might change. :) Yes, the fin is rather sharp, but stylish! If you buy one of the new 63's, you won't be disappointed. :D:D:D

Here's a 73 that MarkSharp was willing to give me this week. I love the knife, Mark! Number 15 out of 50 made. Walks and talks like a champ too, also he gave me this cool old 1939 silver quarter! Thank you so much for the gracious gifts my friend, you shouldn't have!

The #63"s are worth getting. One of the nicest knives I have. Fit and finish is excellent.

That is a fantastic looking knife!

One that I am really in love with right now is the paring knife..... boring, I know. The 420HC has pleasantly surprised me. It's kept a razor edge for quite a while.

Thank you Perry for for the two awesome NYKC jacks that will be in my display case.

They will have a good home with their family. :)

Looking forward to Mike's SFO run of NF Barlows.

You Mark, I wondered why, a few years ago, I bought those 2 knives and now we all know why! Thanks again my brother! I too am seriously looking forward to the Norhtfield 77s, they should be superb indeed.

I feel the same, I could not resist any longer, ordered one yesterday.

Look like they updated their webpage to include the 77 barlows as in production. I can't wait to see how the scales turn out on these!
