Lets talk GEC!

I'm all caught up on my reading, thanks. I read this forum and this thread in particular every single day.

And lately it has been littered with newcomers who can't seem to get it thru their heads that this isn't the place to talk about the buying process, and to just generally bitch about how GEC goes about their business. There is an appropriate forum for that and this isn't it. So I guess I am getting a little sick of putting up with that all the time.

Why do you think a forum knife is unlikely from GEC? Who have you talked to?

I mean, we're just talking here right? No harm in a little harmless speculation, right, since this is a forum where people present their thoughts.

Oh, and @Modoc ED , if you think a Buck would make a good forum knife, cruise right on over to the Buck forum and start a thread on it, instead of obviously trolling this GEC specific thread.
Hey cool guy...calm down

Considering that three of the last six forum knives were not made by GEC, and that the traditional sub-forum is not, in fact, the GEC sub-forum (regardless of how prevalent the brand currently is), perhaps the Let’s talk GEC thread is not the right place to discuss the next forum knife. Just a thought.

I think Fixall's done a good service taking the GEC business-side discussion to GBU. I'm hoping we can focus more on the knives than the business here on in. Playing armchair businessman is fun for about a half hour at a time every couple months.

I do, however, dream of a day where GEC is able to produce half the volume of Case at GEC standards. This thread suffers a little while we wait for the next mail call.

I have an old GEC making it's way to me right now and I can't wait to discuss it and show it off. From what I understand, it was made in 2006 (maybe 2007) and if that's the case, it will make for the oldest GEC in my collection. I am pretty excited about that - I haven't handled one older than around 2011ish, if I recall correctly.

Very cool, I was able to trade for this 2008 53 last year. Making it my oldest, I know that it makes me want a run of 53's, preferably Cubans to be produced.

It's been awhile since we've seen a 53 run - the closest I think being the 54s in 2017. I didn't care for the single blade 54s then... An equal end "cigar", particularly the bigger ones, are built for multiple blades - in my opinion, of course.
