Very cool, I was able to trade for this 2008 53 last year. Making it my oldest, I know that it makes me want a run of 53's, preferably Cubans to be produced.

Here’s a 2011 #53



It’s a “2” model and used enough to wear out the etching.
I guess I like it too much for heavy wear and tear.

Anyone else feel like you can’t own one of those yellow Texas rose variants because you’ve never stepped foot inside of Texas?

GEC just did the TC spears for Mr. Waynorth and they did, what, a couple club knives and numerous SFOs last year, so they say they are moving away, but some are certainly still coming. All we need is a qualified representative to ask for us.

Of course as long as you're not complaining about verdigris, brass liners, sunken pins or general complaining about flipping and availability, we're making progress.

I think I read a comment from GEC somewhere, that they still had to meet a few obligations. I took it as, they may have had some under contract therefore still had to finish some SFO's.

Well just outside looking in- Texans seem to take some pride in being from Texas. As it is I have a “Pittsburg View of the World” mug at work, and I always get western PA folks excitedly (for a western PA person) asking if I’m from there... so then i end up explaining I had family there and I watch some joy leave their eyes. I could only imagine a Texan-on-loan might be more disappointed when I tell them I just liked the knife.

Here is my much younger self at what I believe is the Naval Air station in Fort Worth TX

Unfortunately this is the only yellow knife I own , not a yellow rose I am afraid
(I should fix this one day )

Thank you, my friend. The one that I have coming is also a #73 like yours but it has a 2006 tang stamp - the only reason I thought it would be a 2007 make is that when I looked at the production totals for 2006, there were none that were made in the cover material that mine has.

I'll have more info when I get it in hand though so I don't want to speculate too much.

You believe correctly!

F16 featuring a single P&W F100 engine- aging air superiority, but a classic. Aircraft get more sophisticated but there's still a place for the older technology. Perfect analogy for GEC.
